English League Football ** spoilers ** [17th - 21st September 2010]

well technically the referee can end the match whenever he chooses. he could leave call it off at 70 minutes if he didn't want to work again. but yes extra time is injury time is discretionary however the board indicates the minimum that the referee is intending to add on and it's within the minute, he's perfectly free to add more on if he deems it necessary.

For the sake of this though 4 minutes on the board means 4:00-4:59 and within that there's no grounds at all to feel hard done by.

Hopefully the sunderland result will clear the smog from the football threads

whats that supposed to mean?

Fantastic week for Chelsea fans, watching Arsenal and Man U (last weekend) drop 2 points in the last minute and then having to play Blackpool at home. A liverpool win/draw tomorrow and they'll be on cloud nine!

Yup, in the rule book it's also known as Fergie Time.

:p

was it 4 minutes they held up?

because that's a minimum of 4 minutes and encapsulates from 4:00-4:59 only once it got to 95:00 would the time be up.

What is your maths like?

90-91
91-92
92-93
93-94

There is four minutes of added time. 94.15 is over four minutes of added time. There was a clear break in play which happened after 94.00 which is where the whistle should have blown.

Well looking at the stats on my skysports football app ion the iphone....he scored it 10 secs into the 95th min so yes we have every reason to be fuming about it....the ref should have blown the whistle when it hit 94mins give or take a few secs.

I wasnt really watching the time whilst they were attacking but surely from 94 to 95mins they werent on the attack were they??...or maybe they were.

Meh just typical Arsenal cant beat a crap team like Sunderland so again we drop 2 pts when really we shouldnt be dropping points like that...same thing happened to us last season during the final run in...with that sort of defensive performance we arent going to win jack **** this season...and we will most likely lose Fabregas next season too.

Are you guys seriously annoyed about him playing 10 or 15 seconds extra? Sunderland were attacking, it's fine, it happens. It's hardly a big deal. I assume there were some throw ins and free kicks in added time which could amount to 10 seconds.

I can't believe some people are moaning about 15 seconds :o

When do we ever see the ref blow right on the dot? And as others have said before, it's a minimum of 4mins, the ref can add on as much as he see's fit.

10 secs into the 95th minute. Jezuse H. Christopher. I'd send off a strongly worded letter to the FA immediately.

Well here the thing skippo...ill write you a letter to sony seeing as your poor PS3 just died and your too scared to fight it and you can send a strongly worded letter to the FA...sounds fair enough??

Im just making a point thats all...fact is we should have killed the game off if it wasnt for Rosicky completely messing up the penalty but he did and it cost is 2 pts in the end coupled with our hilarious defense that cant seem to kill a game off when it matters.

I said after we missed that penalty that Sunderland were gonna score and i was right...just a shame i didnt put a few £'s down on them to score in the last minute:p

Well, I did watch the game... 94 minutes and 15s (or so) is IN the 95th minute...as it's over 4 minutes.

Quite clear, eh?
