Enlisted WW2 MMO Megathread

It's from the War Thunder devs and free to play upon release which means grind until you internal organs fall out or pay to win, just look at the tiers of the kickstarter one of them is actually called 'Armed to the Teeth'.....LMAO
No thanks.

Does look interesting, some kind of affiliation to warthunder so likely to be more run and gun than a combat sim but worth a look when it comes out. I wonder if there is any kind of PUBG influence going on, 120-150 people servers, squad mechanics etc. Could be interesting.

Yeah

Already don't trust them. Especially with this week's update to WT that means you have to pay £10 to unlock the new tech tree

I used to like War Thunder then they made it harder and harder to unlock things and now I can't be bothered with it. This does sound interesting though and there's not many multiplayer games where you control an AI squad, Operation Flashpoint is the only one I can think of.

been playing it could be great with the right tweaks. its a bit floaty to play not bad looking most of the enemies you will shoot will be bots. hopefully it will get better and better. sorta like heroes and generals. the only thing to me that worries me is it going to be a pay to win game. you can play for free but best guns tanks and the like brought by people maybe op.

there deffo is a crowd for this hopefully it works out well. its play okay at moment will revist it in 3 - 6 months.

Are Russians in it and are they op ;)

well if you think about it they should be really seeing as they basically were the main people who won ww2. we often get coverted with that but the russains won most of the really big battles.

from what i tried the german guns were better than american.

Played a few hours the other night, very spammy with the amount of AI squads about but overall did enjoy it. Headshots are satisfying, movement a little janky but that can be fixed in time. Uninstalled for now but will revisit.

For a F2P, I don't mind it, however it's Gaijin and can see it going very P2Win/advantage a la War Thunder.

Reminds me a little of RO2. Not tried the PvP only game mode yet but the default Squad modes seems half decent.

It unreasonably bugs me no end when game companies whack MMO onto games which clearly are not MMOs
world of tanks won an mmo award.

it's basically counterstrike/quake with a global lobby aka as multiplayer game.

people stretch the mmo tag so far these days, if it's not thousands of people on a persistent server it's not an mmo.

the battle should carry on why you sleep, etc not match making

The first year or 2 were great, then they started messing with the tiering and tier matchups and made the grind just no fun, this was before they added tanks

Exactly, if we start saying 150 players is an mmo, then we are saying that CoD Warzone and Battlefield 6 are MMOs, which is obviously bonkers

Well WoT is 30 players in a standard game instance so that's set the bar

Unless someone decided that 800 people swearing in lobby general chat waiting for an instance is the MMO part...
