What's odd about Enter Shikari is that traditionally with a metal/anything crossover the metal will be fine and the other half will be dire. Kennedy Soundtrack, Hed(pe), etc etc. But with Enter Shikari, the dancey bits are just about passable, and the metal part's horrible. Very original
I did enjoy their live show at t in the park though, there's potential there. Lots of it, I think. Album 2 might be very good, if they can actually manage to blend the styles like they do just occasionally on the first one, if they can make the vocals just a little bit less prevalently awful. The song Enter Shikari, my word, could the vocals be worse? He doesn't have the power to do that sort of growl/scrape, not even close, I doubt he'll be able to carry it on for long either. That wee lassie out of Defenestration's probably on the dole, hire her, she could roar. What were they thinking when he sang "I want to see you get your teeth round this", it sounds
awful. He can do a passable Colin Doran, on Johnny Sniper, but he can't do a Frank Turner or a Robb Flynn.
If you like Enter Shikari, go and listen to Pitchshifter and the Mad Capsule Markets, and Fear Factory, and maybe ATR, they were doing something similiar before Enter Shikari's balls dropped, and far far better. Or maybe I've just got old. Pitchshifter are playing London in October, go see them. GO.

Because they are jumping on this whole "emo kids" scene started by Funeral for a Friend...
Yes, because Funeral For a Friend were the
first emo band ever. Still, if you want to hit someone with the sellout bat they might be a viable target though, since they seem to have turned into Jimmy Eat World. Enter Shikari don't sound much like 'em though.
