Good god, do you really believe the rubbish people have been posting? I run it comfortably at max on a stock e6300 and stock 7900GS. I'm not sure what effect the RAM will have, if any at all.

running it 1920x1200 8xAA 16xAF motionblur etc, all maxed out smooth as butter... thats on my 2900pro... tbh I forgot how good HL2 is, glad I got EP2

How do i check my FPS in HL2?

Motion Blur yes - but don't think depth of field is in.

Quite dissapointed that multi core support is not included if, what I've been reading on here is correct. They were supposed to be releasing it before Ep2 came out. I even thought TF2 was using it.

well ive got mine at 1900/1200 16xcsaa/16xaf and evrything maxed and getting anything from 70 up into the 100s

Doesn't matter that much as everyone's getting good fps (imho) but would be a bonus

"cl_showfps 2" gives you an every-second average fps, more like fraps, easier to read and less obtrusive
