Episode 2 Performance

ok, i just woke up, about to play, BUT, ive only got one gig of ram atm and my cpu wont clock past 3.0 atm (after several days of testing i think my mobo is buggerd) so do you think i will be able to play this with reasonable frames? 1600x1200 8xAA (no point going higher because i dont notice it) and 16xaf with everything max?

Good god, do you really believe the rubbish people have been posting? I run it comfortably at max on a stock e6300 and stock 7900GS. I'm not sure what effect the RAM will have, if any at all.

running it 1920x1200 8xAA 16xAF motionblur etc, all maxed out smooth as butter... thats on my 2900pro... tbh I forgot how good HL2 is, glad I got EP2 :)

How do i check my FPS in HL2?

Motion Blur yes - but don't think depth of field is in.

Quite dissapointed that multi core support is not included if, what I've been reading on here is correct. They were supposed to be releasing it before Ep2 came out. I even thought TF2 was using it.

Doesn't matter that much as everyone's getting good fps (imho) but would be a bonus :)

"As you can see from the graph the 320 MB and 640 MB 8800 GTS are technically faster than the 2900 XT in an apples-to-apples comparison so far in HL2: EP2, but not by a wide margin. The 8800 GTX and Ultra completely obliterate the GTS and 2900 XT in performance in this game. Having only played the first level so far, these high performance results inspires confidence in the playability of this game with mainstream-performance video cards in the $250-300 range."

So much for that ATi logo in the graphics options eh? :p
