Well the 3GBPS part of the spec has been used as mentioned in the above thread.

Has anyone else got one of these drives (seagate ST3250620AS) running at full speed on an 9NPA+ Ultra boards?

Not 100% the same but its the 9NPA+ Sli version (rev 1.1 - 04/24/2006-NF-CK804-6A61FPABC-00 bios), just plugged a 320Gb seagate in and that shows up on the post screen as

SATA2 : CHS,SATA2 @ 3.0G, 320GB

also tried a Hitachi 160Gb Sata 2 enabled

SATA1 : LBA,SATA2, @3.0G, 164GB

so they at least show up there, cant say about windows as it's a spare board out of the box so no o/s, as someone else mentioned the speed difference between sata1 & sata2 isnt that great.

I got it working in the end.

After close inspection of the drive i noticed that a jumper was in place. The flaming thing was so small and it was the same colour as the connection block.

I need to get my eyes tested!
