Hi

I've got a Quantum Fireball here that needs fully erasing, however the PC I have put it into doesn't recognise it in the BIOS or at Killdisk/DBAN. How can I get it recognised?

Are you wanting to re-use the drive?

If you just want to erase the data for disposal then just smash it to pieces with a hammer if you can't get it work.

Does the drive have a set of jumpers like this:

Have they been set appropriately?

Hammer suggestion is my thoughts exactly, but it's not my drive and I think they might want to reuse it.

It does have 3 pins (not 4), but there is no jumper. I thought the PC would just auto detect it anyway. Any ideas where I might find one?

if you do go down the hammer route you will need at least a 14lb sledge hammer and don't stop until you have pieces no bigger than 15 microns.when your done you will feel totally refreshed and stress free.i highly recommend it

you might have to manually set it up and set the number of cylinders .... From memory some bios had problems reading the settings. Might explain why you cant read it.

Brings back a few memories. Used a fair few fireballs.

Hmm can't find the options for this in AMIBIOS
