To sack or not to sack

Wasn't there something recently about players throwing their toys out the pram after managers post match comments? Which is why they now always say seemingly odd things or are too positive.

He was when he started.

I recall Ole got stick also for being too positive and at odds with reality. Also got accused of having no plan at times.

It's almost as if the club is rotten and it chews people up.

Yes he was better early on, but still a bit confused sounding in general.

Ole was a positive man manager but limited beyond that. He did well considering his limited ability, but should never have been given the job full time.

I think it's overly simplistic to just say it's 'rotten' - a lot has changed recently, largely for the better. There's no magic involved here, it's just a case of employing better people (like Ashworth) and building a better squad.

In the end if the club is doing badly people will make up things that are wrong with the manager's behaviour or personality that they wouldn't say if the club was doing well.

It's generally accepted that ETH was not the best communicator with the fans or the media, but was much better in private. Though seemingly not with the players as they didn't have a clue what he wanted. Nothing is being "made up".

I agree that it's changed, whether it's changed for the better or not, that remains to be seen.

Delaying the manager sacking and hiring a manager that wasn't good enough for Liverpool (and Chelsea?) suggests still lessons to be learned.

Its just embarrassing how much the media dine out on United. Now Amorim is coming, everything is about him.

We now have a tactical breakdown of tonights City/Sporting game.

I would love to know just how much more engagement United generate than any other club.

i've just read about the cotterill 'incident' - wtf was he actually doing?! i hope amorims first man utd duty is to notify sky sports that he won't be accepting questions from this plumb in future

I think it's fair to have more confidence in Omar Berrada and Dan Ashworth than Richard Arnold and John Murtough. The Glazers taking a step back can't really hurt either. But yes, there are no guarantees of course.

Liverpool went with Slot instead as they felt he was a better fit for the squad, he certainly wasn't more highly rated than Amorim. We don't know about the other reasons. I don't think he was linked with Chelsea at all? He spoke to West Ham about their job but it didn't materialise for whatever reason.

The same thing happens with the players as well.

McTominny, not good enough.........MCSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE gets a goal when you need him to with GASHFORD up front. Rashford, not that a bad a player, 20 + goal striker right there. De Gea, best keeper around.......De Gea, just terrible, can't catch a cold need to get rid. etc.

He's scored over 20 only 3 times, and two of those were 21 and 22. His lowest tally is... 5!

Definitely earns 350k a week.

If he kept scoring 30 a season ETH would still be in a job.

This is the thing that is so annoying with the media.

The absolute arrogance from Gary Cotterill demanding Amorim give them an answer in English.
Constantly over exaggerated and inflated transfer fees like no other club.
The daily half hour of talk***** flappin their gums about Utd every single day

Then you get the utter helmets on YouTube with their honest fans view approach making a kings ransom off the back of Utd.
