eSata . . .

Normally you'd put the bare drive in a caddy (like those from IcyDock etc) which comes with an external power brick.
 
My case has two different sata connectors, one is e-sata, the other is just a normal sata power and data connector, so hdds can be directly connected to the pc without a caddy, power supply, or opening up the pc. You could get one of those, they are fantastically usefull. E-sata is absolute crap in comparison.
