Essential Android Apps

You don't re-buy apps when they update or you reinstall...you do realise this? You buy once, it's with you for life.

I think you're overthinking it all and misunderstanding somewhat.

Almost certain *all* apps bought in the android market are eligible for a full refund within the first 24hrs :)

This is true. But for Launcher Pro, you pay by paypal and get sent a key to "unlock" the app to the full version, so it would not qualify for the refund through google market.

what i mean though is say i pay for launcherpro whch is something like £2, i buy a good calendar widget for £2 also, and a twitter widget as i'm finding them all rubbish as well so another £1.50, so that's £5.50, but upgrade to villianrom next and that uses senseui (just a guess) so now that's £5.50 which lasted one week. then i see 2.3 released 2 weeks later but you have to pay the developers of that program to download it so another £4 for instance, but that only lasts another week, and now i find i need another calendar app as no good ones on this lastest 2.3 rom and the paid for one doesn't work with 2.3.

perhaps over thinking it but that's exactly how i feel with android right now and i've heard many others do too. too many updates in such a short time and constantly the feeling like what you're using is now rubbish. i want to make sure i'm happy with my setup before committing and i'm not yet with launcherpro.

why are you buying roms? i've found android incredibly cheap. I flash new firmware, install custom rom (if wanted or leave stock) and then add all the apps linked to my google account and launcher pro which contains widgets in its price anyways.. seriously cheap. Also why do you need to pay developers for say 2.3? these things are normally called updates and are included in price...

Just noticed rock player has gone from the market, apparently removed by Google. Wonder what happened there especially as the player seemed so promising if they finished it.

over thinking that far too much

nearly everything for 1.6 works on 2.0+ and the same for 2.1 - 2.2

you dont need to pay again for anything either. where have you seen people with this problem ? in 6 months of being on XDA i havent seen it once

its not androids fault that your fussy or keep changing your mind. you would have the same problem of always wanting newer/better apps on any platform

I'm sure I saw Fede (the dev) say he would refund peoples money through paypal if they didn't like/had problems. Best check on the official forum first though.

i know it's not androids fault, what's you point? should i now buy the stuff i don't think i'll stay with as it's not androids fault?

what i said above shows the confusion with all the stuff available, some free, some not, some no good any way.

I need a bit of help. I used to have an app that let me easily set ringtones and change the vibration pattern too. Now I can't find out what it was. I thought it was astro file manager but that doesn't seem to be it. Any ideas?

Are there any decent apps out there to let me use my Desire as a webcam connected to my pc via bluetooth? That would be cool, but I don't know if such a thing exists?
