I have this. Current apps that have an update just wont update. GoWidget Transparency theme, QuickPic and Adobe Flash seem to be the main culprits at the mo

So I tried to rent a film last night on my Touchpad with CM7.1 Alpha 2, installed the google videos app, clicked play and got a message "Playback not supported on rooted devices (Error 49)"

Same thing on my SGS2 with Samsung rom + CF-Root

I think i remember reading that the films section wouldnt work on rooted phones.

no doubt someone will find a work around.

The market just looks for the su binary to determine if you're rooted.

You can temporarily rename/move su, or there is a workaround app that does something similar on XDA.

So done some quick searching, this should be ok as it doesn't remove DRM or anything just removes an anal check for root, but there's two options:

That link has an app that will rename su to mu which is one way around the problem, plus a link to:

Which has a modified videos apk that remove the check from the app itself...

i just get connection problem errors from it. does nothing at all on my sgs2
