Absolutely loving cyanogen mod, it's brilliant. Two app questions...

1) what's a basic replacement for the People app that I can customise so it's a dark theme without a picture? I just want it really clean and minimalist.
2) same question, but for texts. Textra is very nearly perfect but I can't get rid of pictures from the conversation lit!

Thanks.

Nice spot, gave it a go but I prefer swype - could be a swift key beater but not sure about swype

I'm actually preferring TouchPal over Swype as it is nicer to use and has more features. Did you enable advanced animations? Looks really nice!

Still have Swiftkey installed as I rate that better than Swype too although gesture input is not as good. TouchPal gesture is on the same level as Swype.

Keyboard seemed massive and I didn't like the general feel.if you use swift key then having only 3 options for words wouldn't be a problem but as a Swype user it was for me.

You do know that you can change the size right?

The main plus for me is being able to swipe up or down keys to get instant numbers or characters, no more long press needed. You can also enable one handed mode and old skool layout for those times it may come in handy.

touchpal is awesome. it is big by default yes but you can make it smaller. My only complaint is that its a little busy, lots going on. But otherwise, top drawer.

Oh look, another keyboard.

The more choices available the better for everyone even if they only use one keyboard as competition forces developers to implement new features in those keyboards to keep their user base.

Tried the majority of keyboards out there but keep coming back to stock android:

- nicest layout by far imo, swype is ugly/dated looking with that 2.3/GB theme, swiftkey; I hate the way the numbers/symbols are laid out and none of the colour schemes are good except the cobalt theme
- nice little tweaks

Swype prediction isn't as good as swype and normal typing isn't as good as swiftkey but I type/swype pretty damn well with stock android keyboard anyway and don't really find myself becoming "annoyed" with it :p

Also, swype isn't as responsive as all the other keyboards, slight delay when opening up on my S (stock) and iirc benjo said the same with his GS 3 (running custom ROMs)
