Essential Android Apps

There's a 107MB TTS UK HD voice pack out for Samsung TTS, may be good for those on Samsung phones. Get it via Samsung Apps store. I use Ivona but am gonna give this a go as it seems good.

Any thoughts on this now compared to Ivona?

Thanks for the Themer codes, I tried it last night and thought it was a bit pants sadly.

As for Samsung HD voice tts, used it today and it's good, similar natural language to Ivona but she pronounces A roads as "ah" so A34 is spoken as ah34. Because of that I've switched back to Ivona.

Really wish they would move on from menu buttons on the screen. Till they do in stuck with a modded phone as those buttons just look wrong now

I don't see anything wrong with onscreen buttons... Rather, I prefer them now.

From the looks of things if the launcher hits the Play store, then loads of the stock Android apps would be avaliable for anyone to download, meaning they don't need to flash a ROM to get the pure Android experience :p.

But do you know any different? I only appreciated how irritating they were when I moved to pie controls. The menu buttons now just seem out of place when I see an n4 with stock android.

I dislike onscreen menu buttons, it's a step backwards IMO. Why switch to having to hunt around for a menu button on the screen when a hardware button makes far more sense and is exactly where you left it? It's not even like there's not space for four buttons if Google insists on keeping a switch app button as a main button; my Desire HD has four buttons, one of them search, and that's far smaller than most phones available now.
This is one of the reasons I'm not so keen on the Nexus lineup at the moment; my Note 2 has a nice hardware Menu button. However I'm occasionally noticing apps which refuse to use that, somehow. I presume they're just poorly coded..
Pie controls looks useful, I might look into it.

Chrome has done that for years. It drives me potty on my phone but the text is never too small to read on my nexus 7 so it doesn't bother me on that.
