I find IPP Podcast Player just works. Downloads automatically new episodes as well.
 
Got me a Nexus 5 after not enjoying the Lumia 920. Apart from the silly place top put a speaker, what I do not like is the way the menu works, why do they not just make buttons so we don't lose on screen real estate?

Is there a way or an app to get rid of those menu bars. I saw one on youtube, but that was on the nexus 4 I think.

Also any other essential apps you guys may suggest for the Nexus 5 would be great. Thanks :D
 
Yep the pie controls are awesome but you need a ROM that supports them - amazed Google haven't seen the light with them yet.
 
I had the standard keys for a few months then got CyanogenMod and pie controls and took a while to get used to it, then 4.3 came out and I went back to stock, lasted 2 days before putting CM back on and having those yummy pie controls back again. Full screen yummyness

Yep, those.

I really like the phone, great piece of hardware for the price, but after everyone online going on about how stock is best and no bloatware I feel a bit disappoint with 4.4 kit kat. Seems to be full of googles bloatware if you ask me and is not as customizable compared to sense and touchwiz.

I am sure I will get used to it, if not will sell it and go for a Note 3 or S5 when my contract is up for renewal in May.

That said, much better phone than Lumia 920, but I think I prefer my girlfriends HTC One overall.
 
Why did SwiftKey have to go and change the layout of the symbols and numbers. It's nerfed my typing speed massively :(
 
after advice on an app to essentially lock you in another app (like the ipad child lock featue) as my 1 year old loves the cebeebies app but as shes used to my wifes ipad she keeps catching the touch controls and quitting the app then asking me to put it back to normal?

a video player with the same capabilitys would also be great :)

Can restarts apps accidentally stopped by small children, allowing parents to stay focused on their own tasks.

True, though I hardly use them. All the shortcuts I need are on the main keyboard, I have reduced the long press time to make it quicker.
 
Hi all I just got a notification to tell me that "Top security and antivirus free" is being updated and I dont have that app! Sounds so dodgy....

The only lead I have is that I installed a program THe other day to try and play flash on a website : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andy.flash and when I clicked the notification as it appeared it brought up that app.....but I thought I uninstalled it after I tried it...

I use Child Lock Pro - it gives you a locked launcher that you can select which apps/games are available to your kids.

I use this to prevent my little guys spending all my coins on 8ball pool or from scaring the **** out of themselves with dead trigger 2 lol

They're happy with bike race/minion rush etc, but 'my' games are safe from death :)

And for those that don't want to pay, there is a free 'lite' version, but it limits you to how many apps you can add shortcuts to :)

settings > apps > downloaded tab. Find the one and delete. You can longpress notifications to bring up an item that will show you what app generated it btw.
 
Thanks. No reference to the one I originally installed then uninstalled (the swf viewer) nor the rogue "free security" one appear in the downloaded (or all) tab as I suspected as I did uninstall it......this is definitely fishy.
 
Can anyone answer a question about Helium? How do you set it to actually sync rather than backup?

If I have a game on my phone and tablet, both are set to backup during the night, could progress on one be overwritten by a backup of the one I didn't play?
