What are the options other than MyTracks for cycling tracking? I like the map of MyTracks but the stats screen is pretty tight and difficult to read on a run/cycle.

Is anybody using any good alternatives (free or under £5)?

I couldn't get Sportypal to upload properly kept saying I need to register, so I moved over to Endomondo which seems a lot better and has a much nicer UI on both the phone and PC.

i use it for the little things mainly since i cant get it to turn on mobile data

things like, check for calendar events (work) and turn on silent mode, turn it off when it finishes.

when bluetooth connects, turn on audio to max, when my headset disconnects, turn the bluetooth on the phone off. saves me getting it out of my pocket and turning it off manually etc.

silent mode from 1am to 7am etc.

check their google groups. will give you ideas

anyone know of any free torrent apps that can download on the phone? there are ones that download on a remote pc but it's not what i'm looking for

If it hasn't been mentioned before..

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/m/alpha.html

Firefox for Android just recently started its Alpha testing phase. It installs to around 27 MB though  and is quite slow! so go test fellow Androiders ;)

Thanks for the link, why release Alpha to the public though?

Forget the bloat and slow speed, this is basically Safari for Android (the same multi zoom double tap and power saving page rendering, whoop)
Chuck in bookmark sync + flash and it'll be my browser of choice (unless there's a wall socket available for the default one :))

found an app and trying on a wifi connection. besides, it's down to the port numbers used surely :o

On a technical level - no. They can easily see what type of traffic a packet contains as HTTP looks nothing like bittorrent, even if you slapped it on the same port. There are some exceptions (Encryption etc...) but by large, they can see exactly what you're doing.

That said,

AndTorrent should be what you're after: http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-booleancorp-torrent-app-android-Anzz.aspx
