Essential Android Apps

I like GoLauncher for its features, and the organisation/built-in task manager that I use to kill apps when I absolutely have to, but its performance does leave something to be desired at times. That doesn't mean I'm going to drop it though, I still think it works well.

If you are having poor performance when receiving/sending texts, chompSMS is your best bet, in a different league to any of the other SMS apps.

Finally, for those who use Dolphin, try the latest 5.0.6 Beta...I was using Opera before only because I found Dolphin completely unusable due to terribile performance, but now it is nearly as fast, but with none of the drawbacks of Opera (slightly bizzare page rendering at times, etc).

ChompSMS was good 6 months ago... now it is plagued with issues and has long since fallen out of favour with the android community. Go SMS is the new king, and has been for some time now.

What's wrong with it? A genuine question, just as it doesn't fair that badly from what I've seen. I used to use GoSMS, but its performance was just too slow.

what's the best android alternative to Road Trip for iOS?

For all car costs inc servicing etc and fuel economy?

EDIT I'm trying fuel log atm, looks similar although not as polished

Try aCar.

Circlelauncher is brilliant! Great alternative to folders.

I've been looking at that but cant quite figure out if it works the way i hope it works - is it possible to set up invisible widgets on your desktop so you hit part of your wallpaper and it brings up the circle of apps or do you have to have visible widgets?

Not sure how useful Elixir actually is but that's a huge amount of information about the phone, really quite impressive :)
