Essential Android Apps

Faffed around a bit with keyboards today, was considering purchasing Swype when it was released in the Play Store but figured I could hold off and live with the stock Android keyboard...however it is a pain and prediction is poor (to the point where I simply bothered without it - fast typer that makes few mistakes on the whole). Bought Swype, but downloaded the SwiftKey trial as well. Must say that in terms of prediction there was little in it, SwiftKey might be slightly better, but for everything else (particularly the annoying addition of spaces after swiping a word using SwiftKey), I have found that I much prefer Swype.

EDIT: does anybody have a problem with Google Voice Typing not disabling? After a random period of time, or after every reboot, it will re-enable itself. Googled for solutions but unfortunately have found nothing that works at all.

Swype's Holo theme is a joke - it's Ginerbread all over.

What's the problem with it? Most keyboards that have theme capabilities have a holo theme which looks just like stock Android keyboard which is to be expected anyway, right?!

In my opinion Swype has more powerful features as well as accuracy. I've bought s lot of keyboards so far and still go back to Swype.

Anyway, Nova has a beta update which improves a few things chief of which I'd the way folders in the drawer behave and look:

+1

That's the one thing I hate about it - I wish there was custom theme support

I also wish the Swype development team hadn't shut down DJDarkKnight :( His themed swype keyboards were awesome :) but unfortunately small on a 720p screen lol

(on a side note, imagine that on a 1080p S4, you'd hit the whole keyboard with one thumb press!)

Any 'to do' apps that I can share with my wife's phone, we could do with adding things each that synch's together so we can pick up stuff for each other.

I imagine the easiest way would just be using something that syncs with Google and then using a shared email for tasks/calendar.

I don't use a tasks app so can't really recommend any.

Is there an app to show condition of battery? I know their capacity degrades as they get older but I'm wondering exactly how much.
