- turns out I had AdFree already installed. I guess it came with the ROM. Is the above better?

Adblock Plus is also avaliable directly from their site: http://adblockplus.org/en/android

I also prefer using AdAway compared to Adfree, nicer interface and more options.

I use AdAway from fdroid, get's updated that way.

Can F Droid and Adaway be installed on non rooted devices?

Can be installed, yes. But Adaway itself needs root to work.

AdAway needs root but I imagine FDroid should work without root.

Not sure if there's a dedicated Facebook for Andriod app thread so I'll post in here. I've just updated the Facebook app, but I've noticed i can no longer seem to access the 'Posts by Others' section on company pages. Just a button to go to their timeline and photos and stuff, nothing to do with seeing what posts other people have posted :/

Anyone know where it is now?

AWESOME! Very nice it tells the speed of each core individually as well. I never knew only 1/2 cores are only active with light usage

. It sometimes reports the CPU usage wrong though, sometimes it goes to a negative value on my HTC One.

Will they be releasing HWMonitor for Android soon? I found that handy for checking all my temps on my PC.

Since it's father's day tomorrow and my dad recently got an S3 mini, I was thinking of getting him some decent apps to get him going on android after always having a blackberry. I would say all the usual personalising ones but I don't know how much time he'll have to tinker and other than that I'm not sure what to reccomend. I know he likes to take photos on it and send them to family so does anyone know anything out there that's better than stock for that? And anything interesting/slightly nerdy you know of that's worth a look? He was impressed with Google star map when I showed him that a few years back for example. Cheers

Yeah was contemplating getting him this, but again I don't know if he'll be interested in rooting and so might not get the full benefit. Still worth it for the 'lost phone on the beach' situations though thanks
