Given it a whirl and can't believe how good it is. Is it ever on special offer? I'm definitely getting it, just don't want to do my usual trick of paying for an app the day before it goes free. I really can't get over how well the swipe input works!

Well I bought it years ago for 10p when they weren't that popular, But it's worth every penny at full price imo.

is there a good swype type keyboard that's actually free?

Official Google keyboard.

is there a good swype type keyboard that's actually free?

The one that comes as default :) Personally I like Swype. I have Swiftkey as well, non of them will break the bank but if you want a free one Googles one is not bad

** nb above is on the basis of latest ver of Google not really sure regarding the earlier versions

Another alternative that is popular (though I've never used it personally) is Kii.

Google's stock keyboard is okay. Its biggest strength is definitely performance, it is very smooth, no lag at all. Prediction and features are so-so however.

From what I've heard, Swype is the best for prediction, and most prefer it overall now. I find it less frustrating than Google's keyboard.

Poweramp users, have you had the annoying 'Can't verify license' pop up?

It always happens when I lose connection (most days when I'm on the tube!), and it wont let me use it until I re-install both the application and the activator.

So bloody annoying.

Compared to what?

Compared to swype and swiftkey. Hard to describe what I mean about the extra swype stuff so here is a screenshot :p

I just find it quicker that way compared to holding down a button or tapping and then selecting the number and tapping to go back to the letters keyboard.

The only thing I would like to see added to the google keyboard are cursor keys on the bottom and improved prediction and slightly better spacing between the keys.

Swype is good (best for swype prediction) but I hate the colour scheme, reminds me of gingerbread :o :p I also find it to be a little un-responsive/slow compared to every other keyboards, it improved a bit with the previous update but still doesn't feel as responsive as others.

Swiftkey has great prediction all round (using the beta version) and a good amount of features but the layout of the keys/smilies, numbers etc. just doesn't look right if that makes any sense :p :o Colour scheme is decent enough (only like cobalt)

Another great keyboard is thumb keyboard, although I don't think it has swype typing.

Out of interest what phone are you using, i'm on an N4 and not noticed any lag at all on the keyboard. As i've tried different roms I have ended up back at factory reset a number of times and each time i've rapidly put swype on - can't handle the stock version

Are there any apps that will download a folder from Dropbox and keep it in sync? I have my photos stored there and they show up in the gallery, But don't show all the information unless they are locally stored (Geotagging etc)

I knew it was only a matter of time! :D :p

Motorola X active notification system

Only for 4.3 currently but he has said that if there is enough interest, he will try to get it to work on older versions :)

Plus the "twist" gesture camera launcher:

And........

constant listening for the keyword to activate google now voice search thing but doesn't work when the screen is of:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RSen.OpenMic

Although I wouldn't use that last app as the battery drain will be too much :( :p
