Essential iPhone Apps

I bought Mad Dog McCree for you old arcade fans, £2.99, its just how you remember it.

Im sure anyone new to the game would hate it, but nostalgia is strong so i give it a good 4 stars.

Wow! Spent too much money on that game as a child and was hampered by light guns that didn't aim properly! Well there's no stopping me this time around, going to have to buy it.

Does anyone know if there is an app for non jailbroken phones that does the same as the RemoveBG toggle in SBSettings and closes any apps running in the background?. Just curious.

Not possible at the moment, without jailbreaking. Untethered jb is now out for 5.01 incase you were wondering.

Ah right, cheers. Kinda thought as much but wanted to ask anyway. I jailbroke my phone on the release day of 5.01 and have SBSettings and RemoveBG installed but it would have been interesting to know if it was possible without a jailbreak.

Thought I'd put this in, if you need a text only, simple, clean IM client, just try Meebo. I've tried all of them, literally. Nimbuzz (which, without its bugs would be equal to Meebo), Trillian, IM+, eBuddy, imo.im, and any others you can name, I would have tried.

Anyone know of tethering apps (make your iPhone a WiFi access point)? There's been a few apps which have allowed you to tether but you need to be pretty fast to snap them up before they get pulled.

Also, is Swype coming to iPhone?

Looks like SWIPE is out on the iPhone (available on the app store). Not a fan to be honest, i just hope the real SWYPE makes it to the iPhone someday.

Or just jailbreak.

EDIT: Yep. Jailbreak version called iSwipe is very good. I'm using v0.4.0 and it replaces ALL keyboards, even has the blue line as well as suggestions for alternate words. Unfortunately you have to hit switch direction at the intended key otherwise it won't recognise. The real SWYPE doesn't require you to be so precise (apparently).
