Essential iPhone Apps

Well I've had my iPhone a couple of days now, here are my apps I've acquired :)

Facebook - No explanation really
Google Earth - Same as above
Peggle - Awesome game
Paper Toss - Free game, throw screwed up paper in the bin
AroundMe - Great app for finding restaurant, bars, basically anything around your current location.
ChaseTheDot - Decent free reaction game
Shazam - App that can tell what you're listening too when held up against a speaker.
Remote - Remote control iTunes
iFooty - Displays your clubs fixtures, results, news etc.
Allowance - Displays your minutes/texts that have been used etc
Backgrounds - About 1000 pictures for 'screensavers'
eBay - Speaks for itself
Showtimes - Cinema showtimes, reviews, trailers
Tap Tap Revenge 2 - Guitar Hero style game, good fun
Budget - Usually do this on my PC but records your outgoings etc, quite thorough.
Measures - Converter for pretty much everything, will be used mainly for currency.
Uno - Great card game and can be used online multiplayer!
Weightbot - Decent little weight app, again like Budget I usually record weight stuff on my PC but this gives you your BMI and graphs showing how you're progressing to your weight goal.

only had my iphone for a few hours but am loving

tunin.fm
ecb cricket
shazem
sky news
IM+

wish there was one for bbc news but meh what can you do, need to get a voucher tomorrow so i can pay for some of them ;)

Has anyone got a good app for celebrity goss (for the wife) and news in general?

Is Sky news any good?
Sky News will do her pretty well - there is a slider at the top - slide it over and there is a "Showbiz" section.

It's free, so you may as well just check it out ;)

Well if you havn't tried it, get geoDefense, by far the best game on the iPhone imo. Better and more addicting than Fieldrunners which I found pretty dull after playing geoDefense.

Nice recommendation, just bought it after finishing the lite version - awesome game!

Also flight control multiplayer has worked perfectly for me everytime I have tried it.

Allowance - Brilliant for checking out remaining minutes/texts
Absolute - Absolute radio app
AroundMe - Handy for finding local coffee shops/petrol stations
ECB Cricket - For ashes scores on the move :D
Flixster - Movie information + cinema listings
iFooty - Will try out before thinking about iFooty+ when footy season starts
Last.fm
Shazam - Insanely good for finding out songs!
Sky News
Facebook
TwitterFon
Skype
Traffic Info - UK Traffic information, handy for long drives
Tube Deluxe - Brilliant for 59p

Games:
Cube Runner
Dots Free
Four Free
Flight Control ****
Paper Toss
Toobz-free
Ragdoll Blast ****

Guys I bought a Budget application and am a bit dissapointed.

On my PC I record my outgoings, basically I have my wage coming in then all my outgoings listed with the relevant expense, I then have a total at the bottom of the spreadsheet listing how much money I have left after each outgoing.

I can do this on the budget app but it doesn't transfer the remining money you have to the next month. Does anyone have an app that does this?

What I mean is say after all my outgoings have gone out and I have £100 left, I want this to transfer over to Septembers list, so in theory I start that month £100 up.

I hope someone knows of an app that does this, the one I have is basically just budgeting for each month.

In fairness, that's exactly how the Budget application should/claims to work!

If you want an app that's going to keep a track of how much money you have in the grand scheme of things, you'll be wanting more of a personal finance manager. I'd suggest Moneydance, as I've been using it for a bit, and it's fairly decent, but the accompanying iPhone app isn't out yet.

This article might be worth a look (granted it's a year old):

The free app "Balance" looks like it might do what you are after...

I see where you're coming from but surely there could easily be an option to rollover existing "savings" onto the next month. I would have thought a lot would find this useful.

Thanks for the link, will check out Balance.

Another shout for the geo defence game here. Easily the best game i've played on the iphone and the most addictive (and i've got flight control).

Just started the hard levels anyone got tips on how to do the one called 'the eye'

Thanks

Typical, the Balance application looked just down my street then I realised you can't sort by month, its just one big outgoing list and I don't want to clear all transactions and start again.

I'm kind of shocked there is no application that caters for the simple things I require tbh. i wish I could make apps!

I've sacked off trying to get a good balance app instead just going to edit my spreadsheet on my iPhone.

So can anyone recommend a good spreadsheet edit/view app? Can be the whole of office or just Excel.

There's a few around so need to know which to choose
