Essential iPhone Apps

Well although it has a Push option and sends the mail through I like being notified of an email like a text, that's what GPush did.

try Boxcar.

It does push notifications for email showing sender and subject line.

Can also do push notifications for various other things.

Discovering the wonders of "Air Video"! Not sure if it's already been mentioned but it's the best £1:79 I've ever spent. Stream all your home video content (divx, avi, mpeg, h264) onto your iPhone (or better still iPad) over wi-fi OR 3G!!!!!

Most impressive and works seemlessly (for me at least).

Got recommended this by a mate and tried it today. BRILLIANT app, exactly what I have been looking for, I have yet to try it over 3G though... :)

EDIT:

So far using -

iMovie
TomTom UK & Ireland
iBooks
AirVideo
Messenger
WhatsApp
DoodleJump
Angry Birds
Tony Hawks PS2
Street Fighter 4

Is it possible to set the alarm to an mp3 you have on your iphone?

Its not a calender but Dropbox can display lots of different file types. You have a folder on your computer that you store files in, that folder is then synced to Dropbox's cloud and you can access them on your phone.

It free (for 2GB of storage) and so is the iPhone app. I use it for a selection of documents I sometimes need to access on the go and it works really well. It takes a while when you first sync stuff (I have about 1.5GB uploaded and it took a few of hours) but after that only parts of documents (or photos, videos etc.) that change are synced.

Give it a try, its free after all :)

I'm off on holiday soon and want some more bluetooth games I can play with my missis.

So far I have FlightControl, Connect4, Flickfishing....Anything else? Can't be WIFI I'm afraid.

Anyone know of a GPS tracker that will work with OS4.0 and will run in the background. So far the only ones I have found have to be open and running to work properly.

Wow Air Video is AMAZING!!!
I find Streamtome better. As that can also stream music. Just tried some 720p videos on my iPhone 4 and the quality is amazing.

Anyone use dropbox? The files I download don't open, even bought quick office as I thought that was needed.

Documents work for me. I have tried Doc, PDF XLS and they all work just using the native app.
