I never saw the point in the iPad but the wife was given one from work, and let's just say, if she has to give it back I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Love the thing!

Funny I just saw that for free and it's my default reddit client now. Also 'Reddit Pics' has a beautiful interface and it's free too, you have to pay to unlock full feature list.

Can't find scrobbler, do you mean GPS Navigation 2 by Skobbler it's not free but £1.49 doesn't seem too bad. Anyone used this particular app? How much do the maps cost to buy in-app?

I use GPS Nav 2 and I bought the "world" for £8.99. I can then go and pick countries/states/regions as I need to and download them to my phone. It's using OpenStreetMaps but I've seen improvements all the time so don't be put off by that.

IM apps are the thing I used the most on my phone (probably). Tried numerous ones (and did a brief post ages ago on them), but I've found the following:

  • Verbs IM is nice looking, but that is where the positives end. Avoid like the plague, unreliable like you've never seen before.
  • Trillian is reliable, but the app is buggy, with the contact list going extremely weird all the time (for me at least).
  • Nimbuzz is good, free, works well. Clean interface.
  • IM+ is cluttered, huge, a mess really.
  • Meebo is simple and free.
  • Beejive is expensive as hell, but really works. Massively speedy. The best, but you'd expect it to be. Try the free, single protocol versions to get a feel for it.
