ETA on the 80gb Intel X25-M G2?

Looks like the 160GB's back in stock, no sign of the 80GB again. I suppose it makes sense - much larger margin on the 160GB. You've essentially got to make two controllers, caches and enclosures if you sell 2 80GBs rather than 1 160GB. Still, a bit of a bugger for us customers!
 
That's a lot of games!

For me it'll (eventually - when stock finally comes in for 80GB) be: OS, key apps and a game or 2 on the SSD, backup images of that on a 500GB WD Black, data storage on a pair of WD Black 1TBs in RAID 1, archive on some older WD 320GB in RAID 1... Hmm - probably time for a bit of a clear out - can't possibly need all that space!
 
i want a crucial to but would like the OCZ Agility-EX Series 60GB to as its write speed is over 100mb fasterthan a intel :S. intell and OCZ Agility-EX Series 60GB r both slc which i belive is better than mlc but to expensive and idont like intels feeble 70mb write speed.
 
Again, some other sites are showing expected dates of this week, but I'm fairly sure that it's just speculative to try to get some pre-orders in. Dates just seem to keep slipping.

I have this vision of a container load of these things slowly making it's way across the world while we all wait.

Has anyone ordered one of the 160Gb drives and had a shipping confirmation? Are they actually in stock?

...I've been burned a few times recently with regards the ocuk stock indicator, so I'm just making sure before I order.

Well, that's up to the user to choose which numbers they like...personally I like Intel's random write speeds and the fact they don't seem to lose much speed with usage.

Still waiting for the 80Gb drive:(
 
We've got 160GB in stock now with a shedload more arriving tomorrow.

80GB we have some arriving tomorrow but it's not even enough to clear our pre-orders as we've got so many :(

slackworth can you give an indication how many you will receive and how many are left in pre-order queue :S i wouldnt mind sitting in queue if i knew id be in the next batch. ^_^
 
Awesome - I've just taken the plunge on a 160GB, this is going to make my laptop feel like a new machine!
