Ethan has chicken pox

Calm it down ladies, let's keep this thread on topic please, even if you find it boring:)

I find it amazing that would even need to be said on this thread :( So sad. Some people have nothing better to do it seems. Not you Scuzi btw, meant the people posting rubbish.

I'm with you on this one, it's the most inane and pointlessly boring thread I've ever seen in GD, and THAT is some achievement.
Talk about irony -

DMP, that is amazing :D

Top class hunting!

You two, just give up trying to police the place when you are both so clearly in the wrong.

Jodie,
At least he's had it before it would get a bit more upsetting for him. Having chicken pox during school years can't be a fun experience.

Just wait for next week when I post "Morgan has chicken pox" and "Caitlin has chicken pox" :p:D He's 4 in a few weeks and she's 5, opps better not post too much though as some people might be bored now reading this and find it too hard to press back. :p Much easier to type a paragraph instead.

Sorry to hear Ethan isn't well, especially after all you went through before/when he was born. As others have said though, at least he'll be immunised for life after this, so you won't have to worry about him getting it when he's older.
Big hugs to him for the teething too. I can sympathise with that one as I've got 2 wisdom teeth coming in at the moment, teething hurts!

Hey Jodie sorry to hear about your son Ethan not feeling to good, hope he get's better. :)

Post edited - stay on topic from now on please.

i got chickenpox for my 19th birthday, after getting glandular fever for the christmas of that year. Extra sympathy presents yay.
but yeh bicarb of soda bath and piriton and obv calomine lotion works a treat.

Well I've been using this forum since 2001 and went through a lot on here with people including the birth of all of my children and losing 5 of them so, actually, some people will be interested.

Jesus!

That's terrible, don't quite know what to say to that :(

Why don't the government vaccinate people against chickenpox, like they do with mmr and tdp?

iirc the vaccination isn't perfect for your whole life, but actually catching it is, so this way you avoid trouble later in life when its dangerous.

When I was a young man I could never understand why people got upset by losing a foetus. I had a cousin who lost their foetus at around 18 weeks and went through the whole burial procedure and it just didn't make sense. Roll on to when I was 29 and our first foetus was in the belly and everything made sense. We were lucky to have two successful births straight away but the power those bumps had on me was immense. My sister tried for over 10 years to eventually have a child and everytime she lost one it broke my heart. I can't imagine what you went through.

Nothing ironic about it, I was asking a question in not making a statement about something utterly trivial, if the questions I asked were trivial it doesn't matter as I got the answer I needed from both threads.

lets just say that based on your responses in this thread, if your kid gets ill dont post here for sympathy or any advice.

Hope all is well Jodie

Aww my little Ethan had chickenpox a few weeks ago - poor little thing. He is 3 and a half and coped pretty well with it.

Lots of cuddles, tlc and calomine lotion should do the trick :)

Oh and those scabs can be a pain - mine picked some of his and now has a few scars... boys will be boys ! :D
