With any luck the registration code linked to that preorder would be cancelled and the registration would cease to exist allowing someone else who wasnt trying to screw the system to register that name.

I wouldn't do that like, im buying the game anyway but was just curious on this. Also anyone who actually got the code does it only allow one registered account?

PQW.net: The stuff with the registration of the Nicknames is not really clear for me. how does it work exactly? How does it work for clanplayers which are switching between different clans?

Locki: You can create a Clan where you can invite other players to join you. You as the owner of the Clan can promote or kick peoples, you can set-up the Clantag. This menas that you registered username is independent from your clantag. when you join a clan you will be directly linked with your clantag. The good thing is that you always can be sure that a guy which is called Locki is me! :-P No other player can choose this name to fake.

BTW, I received my code this morning :D Just have to wait for my serial code from the game to finish off the process.
 
Quite like the fact that there's not a load of fake-nickers around.
It really gets annoying sometimes, when people are "guessing who this awesome player really is"

Also very true, I'm sure since Quake was his first shot to "fame" the devs would let him get his nick before anyone else, since it is also a brand name these days
