Euro 2008 Group A **Spoilers**

Ronaldo was good nothing spectacular though.
Every bit of exciting play came from him.

You're way too harsh on Moutinho. Thought he was the best player. he set up a goal and went on a couple of great runs and setup other chances as well.
Had him in my FF team and am a big fan, but he played far too deep yesterday.

Ronaldo's involvement in both goals = minimal.
Ronaldo was mainly behind the second goal, he squared it to Moutinho...

Ricardo had nothing to do most of the match so how you can criticise him i dont know.....
I criticized his tendency to do the crazy, twice he ran and volleyed a ball he could (and should) have controlled and passed. I'm talking from experience when I say he seems to lose concentration.

Deco did lose possession a lot i admit through sheer laziness it seemed (mostly in second half) but his passing was excellent. Pretty sure he was very involved in the best chances/goals.
In the first half he played well, second half almost everything he touched turned to **** and he turned over possession to many times me and my mate were laughing.

Thought some of the turkey players were pretty dirty...referee was way too easy on them.
I thought Portugal got far too many decisions their way, the referee was shocking. Kazim Richards was their star, if he plays like that in the next 2 games (possibly more ;)) he'll be back in England.

now we all know nokkon talkes out of ronaldos ass :P
not at all, as I said, all the exciting moves were from him, he was the main reason behind the second goal, he hit the post (would have scored had the keeper not made a save), and his running and dribbling were great. He was the only one able to carry the ball on a dribble because Simao wouldn't get past my gran.

No way in the world he was miles ahead not even close. They all gave the ball away at some point, and deco being poor WTF are you on. Take those blinkers off and try looking past ronaldo yeah?
Maybe not miles ahead, but he was the best player. Watch the second half again and you might see just how often Deco lost possession for the team, it was quite impressive.

Anyone else getting fed up of all the ronaldo talk on tv? yes hes great player but come on im bored of hearing stories on him now and his name being mentioned every 10seconds!
Yes, very sick of it as almost every story doesn't involve any quotes from him at all.

Official MotM was Pepe, who wasn't even as good as Carvalho. Amazing what scoring a goal did.
Ronaldo hit the post, was behind the second goal and was amazing. All the media are basically saying the same thing, so I would assume it's people here who are watching a different game.

Ah yes the media says so, it must be right then. Is this the same media who seem to think Ronaldo, an arrogant, petulant kid, is the second coming?

But my point is, is it everyone else who is bias, or just a select few?
Occam's Razor comes to mind.

The fact is, Ronaldo, apart from hitting the post, also played parts in both goals, had the best run of the match and looked the most likely to produce anything.

I don't think Portugal were brilliant the other night, but I think that the style they play means that if it clicks in a game or two's time, then they could literally be scoring for fun. It all depends on whether it comes together properly as they certainly have the potential to get to at least the Semi's/Finals.

Ronaldo's involvement in both goals = minimal.

.

Not sure how you can say that - he made the 2nd goal possible with his blistering run over the half way line (although Moutino? had the assist for a 2 yard pass)

(I thought Ronaldo's free kick was amazing - good save too, but he wasnt that evident in most of the game)

Ricardo is atrocious - Utd had him for a few seasons, and he was shaky at best, he just wasnt tested that severely yesterday, against better players he will let goals in

Pepe was great - harshly disallowed goal, but wasnt sure the actual first goal was that great (one half assed challenge which he rode well but nothing special)

I thought Bosingwa looked good going forward but very shaky at the back, made a couple of mistakes. Thought Moutinho was fantastic, looked comfortable defensively and offensively, lovely turn for the second goal. Nani looked excellent when he came on, thought Simao was a little disappointing. Good display by Ronaldo, really unlucky with the freekick.

Love how people are confusing the Ricardos!

Ricardo 1 - Spanish, was backup United keeper for a while, then went to Villareal I believe, never played for Portugal

Ricardo 2 - Portuguese, far better, played for Sporting CP most of his career I think, Portugal keeper.
