Euro 2008 Group D **Spoilers**

I hope Fabregas at least gets a chance to start now, a goal and great assist in 35 minutes isn't too shabby at all :), he also made a lot of really intelligent runs which is something I've not seen a lot from him!

Rubbish. They did the exact opposite.

4 years ago they were up for the game, they were attacking the ball, the full-backs were making good runs, spaces were closed down, the counter attacks were quick, everyone supported everyone else.

Yesterday all this happened....on the Swedish side. The game was like watching the Greece team of the pre-Ottocracy times. 11 individuals who are too self-involved and arrogant to play for their country :mad: The only ones putting at least a hint of an effort in were Karagounis and Charisteas, everyone else was just standing around and watching - no tackles, no closing down, and don't get me started on the back 3.

Where was the Captain btw? Basinas looked vast asleep, and was Katsouranis even on the pitch? Midfield was non-existant.

Ah well, it was a nice 4 years, we're European Champions for another 8 days or so, it was a great feeling :) Shame it fell apart like that......Russia game will be murder, they ran rings around us 4 years ago and have only gotten better...I guess we will end up like France in 2002 - no goals, no show.

Hopefully all players 29 or older will be cut out and we can start anew...

Absolute madness he didn't play. If you gave me all the players in the world, Fabregas would be pushing a starting XI place, so to think he was on the bench yesterday was nothing short of a joke.

That was apparently because he hadn't played in a month, but that excuse is out of the window as he's played twice in the last week or so now so he should be back up to match fitness.
 
Aragones has a problem with players outside the Spain, it's a well known issue he has.
He dropped Alonso and Fabregas and has since had a little dig at Torres.
 
I have fabregas and iniesta on my FF team so hopefully they get some assists and maybe a goal. Got a couple of ruskies as well, pavlyushenko up front and a defender so hopefully greece dont score. Even though russia got gubbed I wouldnt rule hiddinks team out yet.
 
To be fair, most of the teams that played rubbish in their first games, have upped it for the second ones, croatia, france for example.
 
I think Spain will win comfortably. Sweden struggled against the worst footballing team in the competition and I think they'll struggle even more against one of the best.
 
Yeah I think it'll be comfortable for Spain.

edit: lol 1-0. I can't believe that Kallstrom still isn't playing.
