Euro 2012 Qualifiers 12/10/10 **Spoilers**

I wonder how many fans of the (overly) physical side of football took note of the Montengrins. They were pretty big themselves, BUT, they possessed a hell of a lot of technical ability, AND they did nothing overly rash!! It is possible!

De Jong is disappoint.

Ashley Young is amazing though, wins the commonwealth diving medal AND still manages to make it to Wembley for a game of footie.

That was pain full. Rooney looked like a spoilt brat who toys had since left the pram. Some of the others didn't seem that interested.

Feel sorry for the suckers that paid good money to go up and watch.

When does Rooney not act like a spoilt brat?

Spain and Portugal have played well tonight.

It's high time we just forgot about this generation of players they simply aren't good enough to win anything.

our last good generation was 1990.

I've said this time and time again, they don't care. They barely care when it's a tournie. In a way I don't blame them, it must be hard to get up for a game against this lot when they play bigger games with better players week in week out and the champions league is a far higher standard than world football.

We might as well just play the under 21's.

The sniors drop out at any given chance, you can't build a team when senior players drop out 50% of the games and just expect to rock up in the finals.

I swear you would see a better england performance if you picked 20 players out of league 1.

Oh give me a break, I always hear this excuse. " the champions league is so good", compared to what? USA or Chinas league?

Johnson/Gerrard much the same, those three might improve if anyone dared to drop the lazy pratts and stop paying them so much to be crap.

I personally thought Gerrard was MOTM tonight, sprayed passes exceptionally well, broke play up, tried to push the team on but the entire team seemed lethargic and lacking in energy / ideas.

And by many, you mean less then any other england player, right? :p
Barry was woeful, Young, Rooney and Crouch too. Players were static, no movement, its like they didn't really want to be there.

Compared to world football. As in international competitions. You think champions league football is of a lower standard than international football?

Seriously?

That's me officially retiring from ever watching England play football again. Thank god N.Ireland know how to put on a game and display an incredibly strong will and spirit in the game despite having a weak team and less resources than a league 2 team. :p

Why isnt young Rodwell getting a look in? Carrol should be around the team instead of 33 year old Davies. Im not saying Caroll is good enough right now but who's to say if hes gradually eased in to international football he wont be our main player in two years?

Let the younger guys prove there self they are all fearless and haven't been dwarfed with pressure and expectations

Depressed England Fan

Which just goes to prove how crap english players are and how much of a crutch the foreign stars are to make english teams look good. Take the foreigners away, leave just the english players, and what do you have? Not much. A sub standard national team.

Overly unimpressive performance tonight and I am still waiting to see the "new era" that we were promised by Capello after our World Cup performance. I was disappointed with Gerrard, apart from his passing, which at times was exceptional he wasn't able to play, I still wish he had kept the arm band, it seems to make him tick.

Adam Johnson did well, was doubled up a lot but still looked like our best outlet, apart from that no-one else stood out. Would have liked to see Wilshire get some game time, or someone like Huddlestone, yes, maybe not experienced at this level but he is playing really well for Spurs and confidence can play a major part in how someone performs.

Worringly, without Defoe and Bent we were really light up front without an out and out striker. Davies did ok, won a few headers but his style of play was never going to succeed at International level and Rooney is so shot form wise he shouldn't have been on the field.

Ashley Young was atrocious. I counted two big dives, one without contact, and plenty of simulation in other situations.

He's the worst diver in the Premier League, it's gone largely un noticed by most but he is absolutely awful, he dives ALL the time.

He's also not good enough for England

Also, our impact men were SWP and Davies, for christ's sake we had Wilshere on the bench, a truly gifted footballer. Maybe I have Arsenal bias but stick him in the hole for the last 20 and he will have caused at least one or two problems, he can actually play football

A. Young could be good enough for England, its just been wasted away at AV for years doing nothing but counter-attacking football. Ie: Sprint really, really fast down the wing and look amazing when you out number the defence 4v2 or such :p
