Euro Truck Simulator 2 worthy of purchase

OK, this is by far the best ETS 2 community forum.

http://www.trucksimsforum.de/viewforum.php?f=231

The only drawback is it's in German... But it should be easy to navigate once you register and change the default language to English (it translates most thread names and some posts).

Realistic Physics Mod is hosted there, already updated to v1.4.

Well found sir, added a few to my mods folder.

Not sure if that parked cars one works though as not seen any, the one which adds traffic is a tad broken in places. If at a T-junction and cars are in front they won't pull out and go they will sit in the same spot forever, well I waited 5 mins before I bashed my way through.

Anyone had any luck with FXAA mod?

I've installed it but whenever I launch the game I get a black screen :(

I'm running 2x 5850's and have it on a single monitor (have 3 in total).

Any ideas?

Mr Krugga any chance you want to link the best mods to this thread as we have quite a fair few people in here now!

I thought about doing that, but I'm still testing mods compatibility. The ones editing the same files cannot be used together AFAIK.

To give you an idea on what I'm using at the moment:

  • BridgestoneR187_FRT tyres
  • Reduced Hi-Beam
  • Realistic Physics Mod v1.4
  • 4 Mods that change names and interiors of Volvo, Merc, Iveco and DAF trucks
  • Coca-Cola company
  • Echte Firmen (replaces in-game companies with real life equivalents)
  • Echtes Shmitz Logo - one trailer replacement
  • Sitzpositionen-von-allen-Trucks - fixes seating position
  • Navigator v Premium - adds a GPS in some Renault trucks
  • TurkPetrolleriModu - real petrol stations
  • SCS_Trailer_Skinpack - trailer skinpack...
That's pretty much it at this moment, I'm planning on testing a few more in a bit.

Some other tweaks I've done are forcing SGSSAA through Nvidia Inspector (and disabling MSAA and MLAA in game) and a new profile for my Logitech DFGT wheel to improve FFB, and general feel of driving in ETS2.

I can't seem to be able to get Cruise Control to work. Anyone else having a similar issue?

If you can link to them, I can host them myself to make it easier for us lot to download.

We would need permissions from the mod authors to host them elsewhere.

Ok guys few questions, loving the mods so far.

Whats the beacon Mod?
Whats the FXAA Mod
How do i install the Real Physics Mod?
What does Fixed Seating Position Mod Do?
Will these mods work on a demo version i can get my mates to try?

Think we should maybe start listing mods and radio streams to make it easier to find.

1) It's a mod that adds a beacon to the trucks... I think.
2) FXAA mod is an injector that loads a modfied D3D9 library with post-processing effects that affect contrast, colour palette, add vignette and other "improvements" that nobody needs... Oh, and the FXAA post-process anti-aliasing, of course.
3) Drop the SCS file in Documents/ETS2/mod folder. Just like any other mod really.
4) It's self-explanatory, really.
5) Not sure about that, but it should.

Thanks to everyone posting mod links and info, makes the game even more enjoyable to play.Think of what the games going to be like a year from now :D
By the way,i thought that beacon was already in the game?I was transporting a Digger, pressing O as default turned the beacon on.

Thanks but the real physics mod is not a .scs file.
