What were the queues like chaps?

Queues were fine. Nothing there that was amazing.

Kinect = Rubbish
Playstation Move = Same as Wii
Motorstorm Apocolypse 3D = Fun but too much going on
Killzone 3 3D = Really good
Mafia 2 3D = Boring if it wasnt for 3D
Crysis 2 = Really good looking game

Was there for about 4 hours.

I was at the expo for 4 hours earlier today. Really enjoyed my time there.

As Rhys said, queues were fine. Although, Medal of Honour had proper queue control.

There were a lot of Fifa 11 machines there, had a pretty epic match that seemed to have 25 minute halves, lol. There were only 4 Pro Evo stands and was really easy to get on that game comapred to Fifa. Had a great game of Pro Evo with someone AI just met there.

Crysis 2 was really good looking but the frame rate to slow down and even stutter in more open areas on Xbox 360.

I am not blown away by 3D in games, Mafia 2 3D was quite easy to get on if you wnat to see what it is like.

The SAW game looks pretty disturbing.

I would recommend having a go at Need for Speed: Most Wanted. They have an 8 multiplayer set up there that was a good laugh (Plus you get air freshner for your car and a T-Shirt if you win).

Yes, Playstation Move is pretty much identical to Wii. But ther were some interesting games such as a game called "The Fight" I think, a shooting game like you get at the arcades. There was this really odd game were you seem to take on assault courses by riding on an office chair.

Here is a clip of the game I recorded:

Edit: I didn't get to play GT5 but it looks really good.

Get on Kinect, video it, youtube it, and sit back while we all poke fun!!

:)

I was actually tempted to go on Def Jam Rapstar....lol. Had a good day, got to play every game I wanted. As said queues were fine but thats obviously due to not being a weekend. Hate to see what queues will be like tomorrow for games like the new Zelda.

Kinect = Rubbish

I beg to differ.

I didn't actually play any of the Kinect games myself but watching others playing Dance Central was a laugh :D:D

**Edit**
Visited a stall next to the Indie Games section (forget the name now) where you could try out alternative input methods and race a F1 car round a track (or Forza 3 on a third setup). The first setup was a camera set to track your irides (irises) as you moved your eyes. The second setup was another camera that tracked the movement of your head to control the car.
Managed to set the fastest laps on both at the time and have my name down to win a copy of F1 2010 if it still top at the end (forgot to go back and check before I left but they have my email to contact me if I win).

Witnessed Dan and Andy (MrPointyHead + SuperKaylo) being mobbed next to the Fable 3 stand early on.

Was there yesterday, had a really good time.

Managed to play everything that I wanted to play and more. Really enjoyed the GT5 pods, the move section and even had a go with Zelda: Skyward Sword. Also had a go with the multi-player Goldeneye set up, just wish the screen would have been larger to get the most out of it.

Still not convinced by Kinect, the lack of tactile feedback coupled with camera lag just makes it a non starter for me.

So I get out of the tube and there are women EVERYWHERE at Earls Court. I thought 'wow, breaking some gamer stereotypes here', but then realised that the expo centre was being shared between Eurogamer and a Wedding expo :D

It wasn't brilliant to be honest. Was fun to try out NFS (and grab a free t-shirt and air freshener!), play Gears 3, Fallout and all of the rest of the games, but it didn't seem to have the critical mass of a big show. After a couple of hours I was done. Move and Kinect put on a good show (kudos to the two lovely blondes on the dancing demo, I don't know how they had the energy) but nothing really elevated either apart from party games. Considering the investment in buying either, it didn't look worth it.

Plenty of 3D on show too, mixed feelings. The nVidia rolling demo showed off some good 3D (Tomb Raider and some unidentified FPS spring to mind) but then there were some games that didn't seem to warrant the 3rd dimension.

Went today, surprisingly not too busy for the supposed biggest day (sold out fastest). Looks like they didnt over sell just to get people in, always a good thing.

Anyways I played:

Kinect: Played the driving game and to be honest it wasnt great. There is a noticeable delay for movement (about 1 sec) not a big deal but somehow doesnt feel like your playing. Also when 20 people are watching you it feels even weirder. Felt really sorry for people playing Dance Central.

Little Big Planet 2: Fantastic. Thought it would be good but some of the new gameplay stuff they had on show was brilliant. Had a level set in space that features low mavity which was great.

Dead Space 2: Soooo much better than the first, always something crazy going on and less truding around corridors waiting to get monster raped. The PR bloke there was telling us how much better the PS3 version will be (new graphic engine apparantly), so if your gonna choose then there you go.

Rock Band 3: Got to play this with the new 100+ button guitar controller and its a real game changer. Having played every guitar hero/rock band game since the first its like starting all over again. Incredibly difficult but in a really rewarding way. Controller was really responsive and imo will be worth shelling out £100+ to get. Keyboards looked great as well but didnt get to try them.

Killzone 3 3D (Killzone 3D?): New levels were great but as this was my first time playing on a 3D tv was more testing out the 3Dness (thats a word right?). Didnt make my eyes bleed as i thought and gave great depth but it looked like the players guns were a cardboard cut out stuck to the front of the tv and they had no depth but the rest of the level did.

Games I didnt get to play but looked awesome:

Brink: Looked absolutely fantastic but unfortunately had the biggest line at the expo. Watched plenty of gameplay, definate first day buy.

Marvel vs Capcom 3: Again looked brilliant but was swarmed with people. It was winner stays on and I swear it was the same guy there from when i got there to when i left. Game looked incredible and was lightning fast, gonna be huge.

Assassins Creed Bloodlines: Watched the multiplayer and the new stalking matches look to be worth the price alone. Never liked the others this may convert me.

Crysis 2: Gorgeous looking game but crowded out by fat 14 year olds

Games that looked pretty pap:

Def Jam Rap Star: Just had absolutely no appeal. Had some PR guys around it all day shouting to try and goad people into playing it but the game itself is just a bland looking Singstar with hip hop songs.

Dance Central on Kinect: The image of a young guy giving it his all to this game in front of a wincing crowd has put me off it for life. Also no matter what dances people did it didnt register any different.

Kinect Adventures: Not trying to rip on Kinect but watching people jump a foot in the air only to have the game do the same move 3 seconds later was really off putting.

Zelda Skyward Sword: Only here because all Nintendo brought was 2 units and allowed everyone a ten minute go, so you can image how long the cue was. It was also draped in black curtains so you couldnt even see any gameplay. The thought of waiting in line for over an hour behind Nintendos most sweaty and neck bearded fans wasnt nice.

Well my fingers hurt now from typing so there ya go!

That was cringeworthy. When someone actually got up to sing along, there'd be a woman there slinging fake dollar bills at them. Such a train wreck.

Oh also, Crysis 2 was great but for some stupid reason the PC build had Xbox control hints. 'Press the Y button to interact' or 'press the x button to switch weapons' had me mashing the keyboard to find the right keys.

It was the same build for both platforms hence why the 360 version had "Enable 3D" in the menu. The 360 version ran and looked terrible after waiting 10 minutes for the demo to start up. The PC version was a lot more better.

Remembered the charity stand in the corner of Expo with the eye control camera setup.

If you use twitter, help them out by adding them to your follow list. They are aiming to get to 500 followers before the end of the Expo as somebody has pledged £50 to the charity.

What a waste of time that was. A load of games that are already out, and the ones that aren't are either queued to death or really short.

Got there at 12, gave up at 2 due to a boredom-induced coma.

I beg to differ.

How do you beg to differ on a system you havent played? Just watching other people really doesnt give you a more valid opinion than me doing the same thing with the vids we have seen...

ps3ud0

Nahh just hoped some people would give some informed opinions on Kinect rather than carry on the opinions theyve gleaned from just watching it (either on vids or in real life). Fed up of people having a go at something/saying its the best thing in the world and they havent even tried it.

This expo is one of the few chances the general public have to try it before launch - be nice to see some useful opinions - not a lot to ask no?
