There is so much hope in this thread.
I'm still waiting for someone who has posted in this thread, to say truthfully, "I won the jackpot!"

The odds of winning are so ludicrously low, I'm not sure if its worth spending even £2 on this.

People waste money weekly on fags and booze and other crap, whats the harm in a few quid a week on the lotto?

They are spending it on a few hours of hope and happiness. I'm guessing you get much the same experience from a cigarette or pint etc. Those who can, should (IMHO).

How do you guys feel about giving people (close friends/relatives) money?

I'd happily give to close friends and family, I wouldn't want to **** it all away though, so like 3% for sharing, 2% for my own spending/living while the other 95% stays in the bank for at least a year while I decide whether to leave it in there and only take from interest each year or invest in something as well as pick a charity to give some of it to, not like oxfam or anything but a small one where it will actually make a difference instead of being spent on advertising etc.
