Euromillions

I could very easily live off 100m. I wouldn't sit idle but I wouldn't work a 9 to 5.

I also wouldn't just spend it all. And without going insane obviously, there is only so much you can buy. I have no interest in a Ferrari or a marble clad palace...

Who would buy a house and who would build one? (as a personal home, not investment wise)

I don't know, could you live off £100m if you didn't work? I mean, that's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year for possibly 50 years. im sure you would be spending a lot of money daily to keep yourself amused.

Thing is people say this but they forget how many hours a day they lose because of work they otherwise wouldn't do.

For example, I start work at 8:30am and finish at 4:30pm, but if I didn't have to work I wouldn't have an alarm clock so I wouldn't wake up until at least 10, then instead of rushing breakfast like I do now I would take my time and probably spend a good hour preparing and eating my food (so that's 11), I'd then have a bath (instead of thew rushed 10 min shower I do on a work day) so that's another hour gone and we're at mid day. Then I'd probably go to the Gym for a couple of hours to take me up to 2 and when I get back I'd spend another good hour preparing and eating lunch.

By that time it's 3 o'clock so only and hour and half earlier than I'd normally get my 'free time' and when you take into account the travelling time to and from work where I'm doing 'nothing' normally that cancels a lot of that out. So I don't think the argument that you'd just be bored if you didn't work is as true as people make out.

If I won the £100m I'd just set myself challenges to take up my time. Riding every major rollercoaster in the world would be my first, that would keep me entertained for a good year at least.

It would have to be build and invest money in interesting companies. Like skylon project but that's chump change compared to what they need. But I'm sure it will still be appreciated and get you some tours and other stuff.

If you have 100m+ in the bank and are sat at home bored. You're doing it wrong.

I would have mine built I think. I have an abnormal idea of how a house should be.

I would build my own house too no doubt. Id certainly buy for investment and the mother and such (unless she wanted to build her own).

In all seriousness, I'd buy a load of different businesses as well as starting my own. I'd then create apprenticeships ect. Well, I like to do my bit for society. Afterall, it would be all your money that would be going into my account. :)

i'd buy OCUK and lower the prices of everything by 25% for a year :D

build my own house, and still work, cos if u dnt work you waste a lot of money cos u too much time to burn !

Would you stay in your current job or find something different, perhaps closer to a hobby. Unless you love your current job of course!

I just had a thought. Gigabit up/down broadband. mmmm

I'd probably spend ~£50k on various gadgets and other bits and bobs (and pay off any debts) and then not spend anything much more whilst I decided exactly what I wanted to do.

I'd probably look into getting a house built to what I wanted (when I had decided where that was) and invest in some companies which interested me.

If I did win the £100m I'd probably tell people that I'd won one of the £1m raffle draws so they don't know quite as much I really have.

Good idea. It would be hard to hide 100m win unless you dont spend any. That would be a simple and effective cover up!

It wouldn't work, not for me anyway. 1million isn't a lot they would soon find out you had won much muc more. You just have to accept every man and his dog is going to know and live with it.

On top of that if I won that much I would want to make sure a few friends were well off.

£6 on it! fingers crossed!!

If you win, what's the very first thing you will buy?

Another GTX 690, 2 More SSD drives, 2 More Hazro Monitors, every game I want on steam. I'd then proceed to buy all kinds of Electronic Hardware. I'd also buy the most expensive/high spec gaming laptop I can find for the bit below.

I'd probably then jet off to Dubai and go on an epic spending spree with the family, while staying in the Burj Al Arab for a couple of weeks. All chill out hours in the hotel would be me gaming on the new laptop. Yeah I'm too much of a Nerd at heart.

When I think I could be 100 million pounds richer tonight it gives me a funny feeling inside. I presume it's the same for you lot?

Nope, I don't expect to win. Even buying 10 tickets my odds are still around 1 in 11 million. Not good odds :p
