Money is all relative, there are a thousand ways to spend a million within days, you just have to have the right mindset, visions and perspective.

If you think like someone who doesn't know what to do with it based on your own limited perceptions of value, then wining 5 million would probably be all you would ever need!

I saw an interview with one of the guys from Dragon's Den and they asked why do you bother going to work when you've got millions in the bank. He said there's only so many rounds of golf you can play before it gets boring. You have to have a reason to get up in the morning.

So I suspect with all that money a lot of people start up the business they always wanted to run or travel the world visiting places they've always wanted to see or follow a sport they like by going to the places it's on. You invest in and manage property etc. Become a philanthropist. It just means you can do what you want, when you want. The ones that go from rags to riches and back to rags are the ones that spend spend spend instead of considering what they can now do with almost unlimited funds.
 
I'd buy a big house and fill it with arcade cabs and pinball machines, actually, I think I'd just open an arcade.

Should keep me busy.

Yep, you will generally be rubbing shoulders with those with money, so instead of a big mac and a round down the pub for £30, you spend £100+ at a local restaurant and whatever on wine.

Number 1 would be making sure my future was secure, so a large chunk would be invested, i'd start my own company, buy the usual house, cars etc.

Many who win large sums of money squander it, thinking they can spend how they want and they will never run out.

Going from millions back to nothing must be VERY hard to take,

Actually, most people here understand the odds of winning the jackpot are extremely low apparently more than you do. If your aim was to come across as intellectually superior then you've shot yourself in the foot, as your statement "exact infinitely low probability of winning" is as stupid as it is wrong. An infinite quantity cannot be exact by its very definition.

This means I'm gonna win, right? I'd be totally bummed out here if I thought it was an unlikely prospect.

Someone asked me that once when the Euromillions jackpot first capped at £160m. I replied, "Make movies".

Had this on the lotto last week.

All six numbers just spread over two lines, ended up with £69 for the four numbers and £10 for three.. probably the closest i'll ever get.

Most i've ever won on the euro lottery was about £90. It was something like 3 numbers and a lucky star
