its ok at this rate, if the race is the same, McLaren could just tiptoe around and wait for everyone else to crash.

Lost track of how many times Vet has used the escape area.

Wow, 40km/h down on the straights with the upgraded MGUH.. Hopefully they are on some sort of validation running, but if this is indicative of what they've spent 4-5 months developing then they need to have serious talks.. 3 years is too long, and who knows what next year will be like.

:(

So.. Alonso won't stay at McLaren for another season if they stick with Honda, based on another promise of 'don't worry, next year's engine will be amazing'. So if they want to keep him they simply have to switch suppliers. But then they'll lose the Honda cash. It'll be interesting to see what's more important to McLaren. Not the cash, I imagine.

they still need everyone else to agree they can switch.

There were several unhappy remarks from Mercedes-supplied teams when the idea of Maclaren switching back to Mercedes power was first mooted a couple of months back. Other teams basically said that they'd paid Mercedes for engines, helped finance the engine development, so no way were they going to be okay with Mercedes giving an engine to Maclaren who would then take points and prize money off them.

It's like the Red Bull/Renault situation, where no one wants to help another team actually beat them. A lot of those midfield teams know that there is no way they are ever going to be ahead of a team like Maclaren if Maclaren had anything other than a joke of an engine, and they'd like to keep it that way.

Well, those marshalls need more training.
Car is on fire, spraying the outside of the car isn't going to help that much.

Aha.. Someone has finally figured out that they can use the big opening in the back to get some foam/co2 in there.

Nice to see they've pulled the kerb from Turn 8. That was a silly place to put a large kerb and it tightened the corner so much that of course the drivers were going to thump it. Given how narrow the track was there as well, I'm surprised that there wasn't more impacts there.
