*** Eurovision 2021 ***

Worth noting that two of the other big five nations get the runners up wooden spoon medals on 3 and 6 points respectively...

Political voting aside, the song was utter *****. As was Germany's; hence the low score. On another note, the woman who did the French song was stunning.

I enjoyed France this year, I felt she put a lot of emotion into that song. I'm not all that keen on the winners though, I thought Finland had the much better song.

Few others I thought was good, Bulgaria, Greece and Iceland.

I haven't watched Eurovision yet, but was planning to do so on Eurovision's YouTube channel as they always host it on there too. However, they have put who the winner was on the channel's home page - such bad form as it now spoils it  They didn't do that in previous years on their channel's home page.

So anyone who haven't watched yet and want to see the performances in order, here's the playlist.

Not sure what’s funnier, the U.K. getting 0 or the reaction from the usual suspects that we should throw our toys out of the pram and leave. Is that your solution to everything?

I imagine a million quid or so for 4 hours of live Saturday night entertainment and all the associated press represents pretty good value to the BBC.

I haven't watched since at least 2011. So we lost because of Brexit? 0 points? Has that been the worst ever?

2003 was the other time it happened, but honestly there's really not much difference in getting a few points or nothing which we've been suffering with for years without any awkward socio-political situations with which to excuse it.

Is that why for years Terry and Graham spoke of the political voting that takes place?
The political Voting still takes place with the jury votes, it’s not as terrible as it used to be but Greece and Cyprus etc still indulge. The public vote has made a big difference and I’d like to see them drop the jury votes altogether. Having said all that we came last deservedly so this year our song was utterly forgettable and the performance was dire his vocals were poor and the staging utterly unremarkable it was never going to get many votes especially in a year when the overall quality was unusually high.

This, when we received precisely 0 points from the public vote, blaming bloc voting looks a bit like burying ones head in the sand.

I'll be quite interested to see if there are a few more rock bands playing next year given how Finland and Italy cleaned up with the Eurovisiom public. Overall I thought the quality was extremely high this year and it was a fun night.

I kind of agree with one of the earlier posters, let's stop treating the competition like it's the x factor and actually embrace the more mental side of the culture, camp it up and throw a song and performer with some zany charisma at it for a change. I don't doubt our guy is a talented songwriter, but even i wouldn't have voted for us.

Not usually a fan of Eurovision but this year was definitely a good one, also missing out all the blah blah background talk between songs etc helped the flow.

Tbf we could send the Beatles in with a fully resurrected Lennon and Harrison and we still wouldn't have a chance.
If we enter a decent song with a decent performance we won’t finish last with nil point. We will struggle to win it as long as the jury’s still get a say but we have won it in the past so another win with the right song is possible.

It's not all politics if Germany you've got Germany, Spain and the Netherlands all with super low scores too vs Israel coming halfway up the table despite recent events!

It’s not all political, we use that as an excuse for doing crap. There’s an element of it absolutely but it’s not the difference between coming 1st and last!

we send dross we do dross. If we sent something at least memorable or decent I'm not saying we’d win but we would do better than we do now.

There is some political swing but is far less of an issue these days. The song was just rubbish and the other countries just take it more seriously as it is a serious avenue of a music career for them. For us it is more a suicidal move.

Germany won it a couple of years ago and got 2 points this time. Pretty simple really.
