EV future proofing?

I plugged it in using the granny charger a few days back (i didnt need to charge but just going through testing everything). it was 70% full but still suggested over 15 hrs till full :D

I definitely could not survive on a 3point plug alone with this car, thankfully new charge point being installed on the 16th of June.
 
battery discharge on vehicle to grid - even if you supplied 20KW, would be similar to driving 60miles a day, so like 20K miles a year that could/should be deducted from you 100K miles tesla battery warranty ?
albeit, for domestic use we only need some 6KW a day.
 
personally i would be fine with V2H, which would still help the grid as it would take me out of the equation for winter, other than the cheap off peak period when demand is lowest. it would mean i would only be discharging at all for 6 months of the year and like you said, probably under 10kwh a day maximum. if that meant me using 10,000 miles of my battery warranty i would probably consider that worth while.

i would be prepared to commit my car battery more full on to the grid but only if it did not affect my warranty, and i would expect a little something from the electricity board then for the work put on my car battery.

Get the kW and kWh correct at least !
 
I'd wait, right now the EV installers charge a premium. As EV's get more common place, more sparkies will start to get involved in installations. Its a bit of a joke right now, aside from having to report the install to the DNO, there really isnt anything special about a EV charger installation.

I think you'll see EV installations holding their value/cost (as none of these smart chargers have economics that supports the smart function into the future) and general sparky rates going through the roof as they can make a tidy living doing even less than before.
