EV general discussion

yes I've been using a better route planner since it allows waypoints - but for real time navigation it's verbal instructions were poor especially notice for leaving duel carriageways off-ramps;
so I now prepare a route with it and transfer it to google maps, and, if I remember turn off the live data to google maps as otherwise it can still take stupid diversions - nobody's perfect., need one ring ..
Why are you using ABRP with an ICE car?

He probably gets home and plugs the car in then iGo only charges it when it's cheap

I honestly struggle to see how you would save £30 on the normal electricity bill from moving to iGo unless you've shifted one load of washing and drying every single day to off peak

edit: also £2 in electric at 7.5p gets you about 100 miles which isn't £40 of petrol so someone's doing some dodgy maths

He says he presses the button on his charger to charge now.

My wife washes, tumbles and dishwashes every day of the week usually in the morning/afternoon, never in the evening but that's all changed now.

We do around 100 miles a week and she says she puts £20 every two weeks in the ICE that we had so £10 a week for 100 miles, £40 for 400 miles..
We now get 3 miles/Kw which works out at 2.3p a mile so £2.30 for 100 miles a week.
She has no reason to lie about it, perhaps our car was very badly tuned or something.

Update, there's no way our ICE could do 400 miles on £40, I'll ask her when she gets in if I heard correctly.

Right I get it

You were comparing £40 a month to £2 a week

I don't think it was lying, just incorrect maths :D

Probably is, wasn't that one done before as well, there the Osprey just up the road with the Kempower that was done as well.

There were some done in brierley hill a few days ago. It was posted on Facebook and the reform types were absolutely creaming themselves.

She's back in.
She is comparing what we paid out in Electric and Petrol for a month so that would have been £120 + £40 to £50 petrol (around £170).
Because of iGo and using the appliances at cheap rate the electric has come down to £90 which is a near £80 saving on those two bills.
That makes more sense :)
