EV general discussion

Who’d have guessed your figurehead and person your whole brands hype hangs off going fully far right nutter would **** your companies whole userbase off?!

Apart from everyone :p bloke is literally courting all the people who think Tesla is everything wrong in the world and would never buy one.

He was Tesla’s secret weapon now he’s more just their complete and utter weapon!

Would be hilarious if the board decides to remove him as CEO as hes being a nightmare

I think anyone on the board would need big testicles to bring up that discussion.

Elon has a huge ego and would likely attempt to destroy their career, at least, if they brought up the discussion.

It wont as they will just lower the car the same amount. the neu-klasse wont fix Audis will it.

Basically its not an SUV so you have less room as the cells take up Z stack regardless . Vehicle packaging 101.
This was my understanding too, though I have to say some EV SUV's I've checked out also suffer the same floorboard height issue. Maybe I notice it more because I'm 6'2 in height. The BMW iX1 for instance, though that is based on an ICE platform and possibly less options for battery configuration (but the iX3 is also based on ICE platform but appears to be much better in this area! lol).

I am interested to see what the neu-klasse has to offer

Apple kicked Steve Jobs out in 1985…

Steve Jobs wasn't a psychotic egotistical maniac like Elon, though.

He also didn't own one of the main social media platforms.

I'd be surprised if the conversation hadn't already come up internally (between board members). I bet Elon has dirt on all of the board members to help sway their views though.

Job denied his daughter for years. Even after naming a computer after her. Tbh he almost ran apple into the ground the first time. Brilliant but far from flawless.

He wasn’t the hippie philanthropist many think he was. He pitched different divisions in Apple against each other to see who could deliver the best product the quickest.

And thus was born the decade long, almost Capulets Vs. Montagues spat between the hardware and software teams that even bringing the hardware folks into Infinite Loop from the old HP Campus out on Pruneridge Avenue didn’t heal.

The software team obviously lost and the hardware team won by just buying Intel stuff :D

if both mercedes mma(audi was a freudian slip) and neu-klasse , are producing two height battery backs it's a good sign, for resurgence of the saloon;
combined with a good marketing team to herd the sheep back towards saloons, with the carrot of better range.

car needs a certain amount of clearance for our pot-holes even if you dynamically lower it at high speed on the good roads.

Has anyone had a chance to look around the new A6 E Tron Avant in person yet?

My local Audi had one in while I was having my S4 Avant serviced last week so took the opportunity to take a look around/sit inside. I've been watching the updates on these (and the S6 E Tron Avant) for some time as I do love a good estate, but I came away with mixed feelings :( The thing that got me immediately was how small it felt inside for such a big car. Rear legroom especially just felt cramped. I assume some of that is because of batteries under the floor and a slightly raised floor but even still, it just wasn't what I was expecting. Granted I only had 5-10 mins looking around it but it was an interesting first impression! Having then got back into my S4 I'd say it probably felt about as big as that inside.

I've not sat in one yet, but from the pictures the interior looks a complete mess. :(

Is it? Just means they have a taller cell for the larger SUVs

You seem to be jumping to the wrong conclusions there. Look at taycan and j1 with its foot garage, complex expensive batteries don’t lead to affordable cars.

Are you a sheep? Can’t see you as a new car buyer regardless, let along describing the error state of two cars you haven’t actually driven or owned.

Fair play having the energy for sustaining such a consistent exhibition of Dunning-Kruger. It’s quite the hobby you have.

No one was buying saloons BEFORE EVs anyway and low and beyond the model 3 soon got knocked off top perch for sales when the Y showed up.

I mean there's a fan vent right in the foreground of the photo so....

On the other hand the glossy black centre console looks so cheap and tacky I can't believe this is an 80k car haha. And hard black plastics everywhere
