EV general discussion

Just wondering how many people on here have purchased there EV as a used car? Or are most leasing, PCP or work EV scheme?

The Zoe I got in 2018 was purchased new as there wasn't really anything suitable on the used market at that point.

Current eNiro is leased, but it was used (just come off a previous 2 year lease)

Next one will almost certainly be bought outright used

EV’s seem to be at reasonable prices 2nd thanks to the depreciation. Just need to decide what to go for. For a change I don’t have a very specific car in mind, what’s very much unlike me once I have made my mind up.
At the moment my requirements are decent size boot, needs to take golf clubs, golf trolley without the putting the rear seats down and be able to take a wheel chair with ease. Would like 300 mile range but not a deal breaker.

The Tesla 'granny charger' can swap the regular domestic 3 pin connection out for an optional 32A socket.
By the time you have installed a 32a socket and associated wiring. you may aswell just get a charger

It’s not really a 3pin granny charger either.

Presumably that's why he prefaced it with "if you want something 32A capable" because some people might have access to a 32A socket (like I do, at various work sites) and might want one charger that can do both jobs with an easily swapped out connector.

Or they might not. Hence the "if you want" bit.

But that doesn’t plug into a 3pin and needed dedicated wiring…

The question was about buying a 10 A 3pin. Quite why a charging cable needing a commando socket installing was recommended was beyond me.

It does plug into a 3pin socket and doesn't need a commando socket installing.
