EV general discussion

I'm the first to give any car the benefit of the doubt, horses for courses and all that.

That said, that Juke.. good god man. What the hell were they thinking
really am I the only one here who really likes the look of the new juke?
it's good we are all different I guess.

PS that article has already triggered me :D

why does the headline link good looking cars being a thing of the past to the "EV era"?

whether he likes modern cars design or not it's nothing to do with EVs ... and aero dynamics have been a primary consideration for car design ever since the sierra , probably before that.
there are plenty (in my subjective view) of rotten looking ICE cars out there imo

In the land of the ev , the one eyed Juke is king ?

won't europe set a precedent with respect to that VAT on public chargers , as ev's have become mainstream, tax concessions,
even like VAT relief on home charging doesn't seem like cricket.

Agreed, attacking only ev's when generally there are, and always has been, many ice cars in the past that were just three boxes joined together.
By the way this is the first aerodynamic designed car https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurel_Persu
But I think this was the first to enter production https://carsforgottenstories.com/2020/03/11/the-first-aerodynamics/

It's talking about current car design and are we not currently in the EV era?

They will be the only option as of 4 years time... Or is it 9? I lose track.

Whatever the case isn't it fair to say that the major investment by manufacturers on new models is primarily targeted at EVs?

Ice and hybrids are naturally becoming the more traditional designs because they are built on older existing platforms and are getting refreshes rather than reinventions.

I'll have you know that I own the newer model queef with a tarmac tearing 150BHP!
I'm not sure I could handle any more power than that.
I have however (for the lols) fitted some hooge wheel spacers to drag the wheels kicking and screaming from within the arches so it doesn't fling itself all over the road when encountering anything other than pristine asphalt, which to be fair has made quite the difference.
It still handles like a potato, but slightly better one.

We'll if you didn't watch the video it was pretty hilarious, yet interesting, what you can do for a few hundred quid and some time on the tools. :)

Also, potato is harsh, more Little Tykes, no? :D

It's the wheels they put on them that are utterly hideous. I'm looking for my wife, she wants a small SUV type vehicle to replace what she has and EV3 and Kona look suitable but my god the wheels make them look ugly.

Urghhhh high voltage battery fault safety recall for my ID Buzz

Thought I'd been through all this and been out the other side with my I Pace. Have I not suffered enough
