Birmingham to Liverpool yesterday. Did I do it right?

Tessie...it's a 3rd party app for teslas, not sure if they work on other EVs
Pretty good as it’s not really designed for range it’s quoted by Kia as 2.9. If I drop to 65 it goes up a fair bit but I was bored. It’s because of the motor size they are not very efficient.
Tbh it's still better than my MG4 manages, around 3.1mi/kWh at 68ish over 300 miles today (18ish degrees). Will get maybe 3.5 at 65 but that 3mph makes a surprising difference to the amount of cars you'll be passing rather than stuck behind with a perennial desire to just accelerate out and pass. I've always been a bit disappointed with it's efficiency, albeit doesn't really impact me as it rarely goes very far.
The ioniq slug mentioned a few pages back that I had for a while would be doing 4.5+ in the same conditions all day every day. Underrated cheap ev, only really held back by it's charging speed as a used buy imo

I can get mine up to 3.8 at 65mph in Eco mode as long as the front motor stays out of use. TBH I have been really happy with the range reading the reviews I was expecting a lot worse it’s not far of what my Ioniq 5 was managing.

When people say "at 70mph" I would prefer to know their average mph
Unless your house and destination is directly off a motorway I would imagine you won't ever be near 70mph average.

I'm not sure an average speed really helps either though. If I drove 90 miles of a 100 mile journey at 70mph and the other 10 miles were in stop start traffic I might end up with an overall average of around 60mph but my efficiency won't be the same as if I'd drove the whole 100 miles at 60mph.
Just reset when you get on the motorway.
Tbh Aircon and heating have a big impact that seems to be ignored. 2kw for an hour has an impact when you using 15kwh to go 60 miles
I don't even look at my efficiency or energy usage any more, having had at least 1 EV in the house since 2019 you kinda move past it tbh
Have started looking for my next car, looked at the iX3 in the showroom and they had a 5 series touring next to it... have to say the 5er was so much nicer as a car. Do I care that much that it has less range and probably worse efficiency? For me I'd take the i5 any day and it won't really be a factor in my next purchase.

I thought the i5 was a lovely car but I couldn't afford one. I think I may get an i5 Touring next when the used prices have come down to a point I would want to buy one as opposed to leasing my present Enyaq vRS coupe. I thought it was much nicer than the IX.

My sister and her partner had one and ended up taking it back to the seller due to the number of punctures they had inside of 12 months. He went armed with all the data from other people having similar issues and ended up just giving it back to them when they tried to argue he would owe them money. They have had a few BMW EV's though and it's the only one to give them any issues.
I do 100 miles per day when I'm working. I like a hot cabin, in the winter whatever the heat in my ICE goes to it's one off max setting, for the whole 50 miles
I prefer that over heated seats, i'm guessing it's going to kill my range considerably on a Kona but as long as it does that with a mix of average speed over 50 miles of 40ish mph I don't mind and would pay no attention to efficiency. I couldn't be one of those EV drivers I'm constantly stuck behind on B roads doing 15 mph under the speed limit.Ftfy
Yeah I suppose it just on the way home then. I work with a guy who drives an EV6 coming in with coat, cap and gloves on. Constantly bragging about range and how cheap his journey was, that would be time to end it all for me
Since getting my VZ from V2 (58 > 79kWh usable) i just drive faster, only one trip i used to worry about range as i hated stopping so would sit at 68-70mph . Lifetime of the V2 over 26k 3.6, VZ done about 7k since Sept 3.1. Jpaul will be amazed as the AP550 he goes on about all the time is 'mega efficient', but when the car is 150kg heavier, has wider more sporty tyres it kind of goes out the window.
300miles easy in this weather on a charge. Plus my other car is a 450hp V8 that drinks fuel (and Im happy to put £100 in it if for a track day) so even 2m/kwh would be fine for me day to day

Its only about 20-23C ambient though. Aircon on full blast or heating on full in winter could be pulling 5kW
100% used not new
And they have been out a year or two longer than the iX3 which helps as well
