EV general discussion

Audi have cut costs too far basically. They are not bad cars but their pricing is premium and IMO is not justified. You mentioned getting a great deal, which is probably fair as a way for Audi to compete but on RRP I don't think they are in line with the BMW/Merc equivalents.

For the A6, apart from 800V why would you not get an ID7? For the Q6, who is picking one over the iX3?
Erm range, build, drive train, charging, looks. Its the same argument over most cars, personal preference for these things.

And having spent a while in the newer Mercs and BMWs I'd say they are all on a par, but different, thats why they all exist and why they all sell cars. I liked both the Polestar 4 I had and iPace, but they were again different

Worth noting Hypervolt still appears to have some issues with IOG if directly integrated, whereby they often seem unable to charge at full speed when controlled by Octopus - becoming more of a problem now Octopus have introduced the 6hr cap
Never had that problem with my Hypervolt 3 Pro. Seen plenty of complaints about Ohme chargers though.
On a side note, stopped on the M1 yesterday to charge at Gridserves Markham Vale Charging station. 400kW chargers, air conditioned services with very cheap food/drink and clean toilets. 50% discount on charging if you used the app. Very cool experience, but of course when I came out there was a petrol car parked in a charging bay. Must have heard about the cheap service station food!

My lease is coming to an end in December so need to start getting its replacement lined up, so far on my list I have

Kia EV5 GT Line S, though hoping the GT is annouced soon
Skoda Enyaq 85 or 85x Sportline
Toyota BZ4X Touring
Peugeot e5008

Lease costs they are all about the same, the top two contenders is the EV5 and Enyaq, both have similar boots, spec so not sure which way to look. I have had several Kia's and been happy with them, not had a Skoda before, both seem to be getting decent reviews, the Enyaq just had a little refresh with Android Auto headunit now rather than Skoda software.

Anyone driven any on the list, any thoughts?

Thanks

Join one of the IOG facebook groups, you'll see what seems like half a dozen posts a day of 'omg why is Octopus throttling my charge' from Hypervolt owners
I don't wish to join any fb group, I asked for citation please.
Never had any charging issue with my Hypervolt at all, are you sure these aren't earlier versions of the charger.
I also believe that the IOG uses direct vehicle integration with my i4 anyway.

EDIT: Looked at my charging statistics on the BMW app and all sessions were at a 7kW average.
