7kwh is all 99% of UK people have at home so won't need to be upgraded. not sure it will add to value of your home.... but it's a stand out feature that other houses may not have so many make yours more attractive than a similar house down the road if the time comes to sell.

It's kinda silly haha, just social media and things.
My bill is 45-60 a month.

Suppose it wouldn't hurt getting added although I'm in a small 2 bed semi. Would need to see if they can do a outdoor install next to the meter box.

Looked at Dacia Springs, Nissan Leaf and a few others (no intention on buying a leaf lol). They all range from 500-700 on insurance.

The problem is I hardly drive to begin with as I'm working from home. Last 2 years I've done a total of 2K miles. I was tempted to sell my car but if I ever need it.....

I don't want to spend a fortune on a car I wont use much.

Just put in £50 petrol and it hurt. My car doesn't seem to get good milage at all, think it was 30mpg on the dash. It is for the most part city driving to the shop, parents etc. 2017 Corsa (worth around 6k traded in)

Tesla's don't really need servicing, aside from the odd minor thing like a filter change every 2 years. I do like a saloon but I'm not really fussed either way. BMW will no doubt want to relieve me of £700 per service on an i7 just to have a look around it and change the cabin filter and brake fluid.

I don't love the tyres that came on the Tesla, they're the Bridgestone Turanza 005 EV - they're fine but now they're a bit worn the back end is not the most inspiring when you floor it in damp conditions. :p No doubt the Michelin range will be better. I want minimal noise and good efficiency though as well.

I'd do the same if it was a long range too. From what I've seen as long as you aren't leaving it at 100% charge for long periods it doesn't matter that much. People do like to discuss it though!

ok - you had mentioned not forking out on tyres - that made me think you had service/maintenance package - even if bmw7 tyres are probably more expensive than tesla's
you just said weren't inspiring

I've got the OG Michelin PS4 T0 on my model 3, four were fitted brand new when i picked up the car last year from Tesla, currently sitting at 6mm each after 6k miles. After doing a bit of googling, the next set (eventually) will be either the Hankook Ion Evo or the Continental Ultracontact NXT...whichever is cheapest on the day.
 
No complaints about the hancook’s on my Y. I’m on about 30k and the original rears are still on the car although they are getting low. The fronts have plenty left on them.

Even if they did modern cars charge so fast that it's almost irrelevant, but obviously they will be all visiting some relative that 'must' see them right now and a 20 minute stop would be impossible to cope with, oh, and they all live 400 miles away so the 7 hour drive it takes to get there is totally forgotten about in the argument.

It isn't necessarily slating EVs - it doesn't necessarily mean they have anything against EVs but reminding people that not everyone has the same circumstances and requirements.

If you do have to do short-notice long trips due to dependency and/or call out reasons even if it only happens like 1-2 times a year it can be a complete show stopper even when 99.999% of your usage is prime EV territory.

I don't maintain over half a tank of fuel in my vehicles just for the fun of it :s

EDIT: And also one of my motivations for annoyance at not getting on top of the charging infrastructure with a full scale standardised roll out up front in this country.

funnily enough this is one of my concerns about a super fast charging car.
on the rare time I need to use public charging it's when I stop at a services and want to grab a bite. this is fine with my car and it's archaic 40minish 20-80% charge time

i worry if I end up with some super fast charger inwill end up with a fully charged car whilst I am just sitting down for a meal and I end up with a wacking big fine for over stay.
it is why whilst those without an EV complain that they want more charge points which can do a full charge in sub 10 mins.....

in actually want 50-100kw charge points (which cost a little less) and don't have overstay fines.

tbf don't really need to charge to full/80% either
this weekend just gone, i did a 400 mile round trip to the lakes
5 mins charge to, and 5 mins charge fro

basically i sat in my car for the 5 mins, then moved it to a normal parking lot after, so i could go to the toilet and also grab a drink
