Yolk steering wheels are fine but all depends of the steering matches. If you can do a three point turn without your hands having to come off the wheel like a F1 car then its fine.
I only need to drive a total of 15 miles a day...
Ive started to look around for a small electric car ( i really like smart cars)
The problem is they all seem rather pricy and i dont feel like buying a 2nd hand electric car would but the right thing to do

So is it quarter turn lock to lock? Sneeze and you head to the nearest ditch ? 
I like the panda look but I just can't see it in practice being good to use. Probably either the wheels move a lot for little steering input or 20 point turns to get into a parking space become the norm

For that you need a very quick and short rack, like an F1 car. Average Joe driver isnt going to get along with that. Add in power steering and it would be super twitchy.
Its doing something for the sake of it, but you need an overly complicated setup to make it work and in the end its worse than a simple round wheel.

I test drove an ID3 on the weekend. What is the latest VW fasination with touch-sensitive steering wheel buttons? They are absolutely stupid. Besides that I thought the car was alright. Considering how much my mate has been raving about his I was expecting it to be spectacular.
But then having a yolk becomes an issue. Works fine in race cars, not in road cars when you need tio do a full turn of the steering wheel.
I bet they are capacitive as well, so won't work if wearing gloves lol. Just what people want right now.
Well, it looks like they actually did make the S with a yoke! I am surprised, and pretty excited to see if they survive a trip to the UK intact!
The squared off 'wheel'(oblong?) in the Q4 e-tron already looked uncomfortable, for when you are manouvering, or, using a single hand, and would like to have your hand more 10clock, .... but, I guess, it improves view of the instrument panel. [I'm sure one of Jeff Tracy's machines had one like that]
While I ponder a deposit on a Yaris and the best time to sell my RS, I need to make a decision on potential company BEV for the family.
General use case will be a short commute and general family trips, visiting family and dog duties. Long trips +200miles are going to be relatively few and far between.
Option 1)
EQC AMG Premium
Not sure if I want Driver Assistance Pack
Not fussed about Premium Plus options, other than fully electric seats
Comfortable, quiet but handles like a canal boast
Option 2)
iX3 Premier Pro
Has everything on it, but LCI due soon?
Maybe a smidge underpowered against EQC but not much slower than 30d version
Quick recharge and longer range than EQC but not much benefit to my use case
Option 3) Model Y
Probably a late 2022 delivery at best which is too long
Note:
I don’t like the E-Tron, Enyaq or ID4.
Any I am missing? iX is a potential option but could only get base model - which looks more inefficient than EQC on paper

Unfortunately, has to be a new purchase on Company scheme.
Would have to be the main family car, based on the “cost” of lost car allowance. Based on two kids, plus a dog, points to SUV.
The iPace ends up being expensive on the scheme, so unfortunately rules it out
The eTron, just can’t seem to get over the looks. The Q4 eTron is a potential but it’s not very quick
The Q4 is a different platform (MEB effectively an ID.4 in Audi guise), much more mainstream in terms of performance. There should be an AWD version coming that's a bit faster but not regular eTron fast and doesn't charge anywhere near as quickly.
