your 12v will give you issues way before your main battery.
I have gone 2 weeks not touching mine and I don't think the battery even lost 1% (but I would not bet my life on that)

2 weeks at the airport and no loss.
Why is the fact you can one pedal drive even being mentioned. And what’s this delay in a patrol car. Anyway. It’s just a baiting few facts that we probably don’t need to go into here
I also find it mega convient never having to visit a petrol station as the car charges when parked. The car is silent but as a petrol head I still kept the ICE performance car for that something that no EV I have experienced so far can match. But that’s fine as I’m lucky to have a good SS scheme for an EV and an ICE (which to be honest I haven’t driven over winter but will deffo be the choice for taking to spa!)

Same with many EVs. The only exception is Tesla’s in my experience which can have drain issues with sentry mode. Mobile apps etc.

you do have to be careful with sentry mode.... but I do wish my car had if for times when I am parked in less than ideal places.
that and the ability to record from the on board cameras when driving are 2 Tesla features I think all cars should have.

Swapped my Taycan for an ID Buzz. A bit of a strange swap you may say, but I got the Taycan hoping it would be a 'one size fits all' car. It's a very capable car, but like every EV we've owned (i3, Polestar 2, Model 3 and now Q4 and Buzz) it just doesn't feel very fun to drive. I really think that the extra sensory feelings of an engine, both the noise and vibrations, are a big part of what makes a car fun to drive, like modern F1 cars are dull to watch at a track compared to the old V10 ones. So I've come to accept that an EV is just really a useful appliance, and the ID Buzz is by far the most useful one I've ever had! It's roomy, the electric sliding doors are great for ferrying kids and/or dog. It also looks quirky, I've had more random people talk to me about it in less than a week than I ever did the Taycan.
Oh, I also bought a 991.2 convertible as well, for the fun part of driving.

ID buzz is great. Never driven a car that gets so much attention and it’s so useful.
The high driving position is really comfy and it’s easy fast enough. This is where Ev excels. Replacing a dirty noisy diesel where u have to row the gears to get anywhere.

Ironically I was going to say the Buzz isn't big enough to be useful, but I was looking at it like a compromised camper, not just a "big car". I think you are spot on actually!
I’ve got a the old model 3 RWD 60kwh and a brand new Y LR on the drive.
The Y is the much more practical car, is faster and will go further on a charge but the 3 has a better car to drive IMO. I just prefer the driving position and it’s very nimble.
The new 3 is a step up over mine and has the new interior that the Y doesn’t have but I think the above will still apply. Test drive both.
My 3 will be departing shortly, practically ultimately won out.
Yes, I budget around 9-10% per 24 hours in my 3 but it’s only got a 60kwh battery. If you have a long range its a smaller % as the power draw ~200w is the same. You can view all 7 cameras remotely via the app which is handy and use the external speaker to ‘communicate’ with others, it’s one way mind there is no external sound recording.
That said the car wasn’t designed to do it originally, if it was I’d hope the power draw would be considerably lower.
Its handy in a public car park but it’s not really meant to be left on 24 hours a day, it keeps the car awake and the autopilot computer is going all the processing, hence the power draw. Leaving it on 24/7 would cost a fortune, it’s like 5kwh/day.
With it off you’d lose 1% in 3 weeks parked up.

It's a useful software option that wasn't originally part of the car design goals. Very likely added after the 4 camera dash cam feature was requested via Twitter. The dash cams run continuously while driving the Sentry feature you can enable when you feel the need to. The same feature on an ICE car would drain your 12V battery or add a 3rd party device with an internal battery.
5kWh a day is 0.2 an hour, at 7.5p that's 1.5p an hour. I wouldn't say it's expensive, it would take a long time to equal the spend on 360 degree third party camera setup.
Ofc it would be more if you public charge, but you would be on the Supercharger network, so maybe 8p per hour.
As above you don't use it permanently. I have mine automatically set to off at home for example.

I guess it’s not the cost which is the issue but the impact loss on range
Yeah you do have to consider it, it is noticeable if leaving overnight etc. Not an option for the airport carpark.
It auto disabled under 20% battery. So wouldn't run you flat.

as an option it is brilliant.
i went to Blackpool back in September , car crime there is rife. I would happily have given a few electrons to have had it available there.
at home on my drive or at work I would turn it off however
surely features you can turn off when not needed are almost always a good thing versus having them.

Don't you just end up with footage of some random smashing your window or keying your car though? I mean, it's not like a dash cam where you can use it to prove liability.
