I've got to change the rear tyres before i go, it was on my service in September to check them around February.

for most people this will be for the best. octopus will only charge full bubble after 6hrs combined charging BUT you get 7p kWh for every half HR period that ANY charging occurs for the whole house.
so I would take 12 half HR periods with 5mins of charging in each slot over a solid HR of charging every time, in winter at least as my house battery dies well before 11:30pm

you need to shop around more. I am sure insurance companies spin the wheel of fortune when giving out quotes.
for instance insurance both my ipace and i3 for both my wife and I with protected NCB and low excess the price varied between under £1000 and over £2000 depending on who I went with (admiral were good for us).
my mates model y is cheaper to insure than my car as well

Well I am making up for him, just ordered another for a family member. Vauxhall Frontera 44kWh - Ultimate Spec - £165 per month, 5k miles PA. Replacing a car that has £40 per week spent on fuel and ~£300-500 a year on repairs etc. Old car is to be SORN and stored, with a run up the farm track now and then to keep it ticking over.
People will be pleased to hear the Frontera has a heated windscreen, steering wheel and seats in that spec, for the winter months.

We don't have two permanent vehicles as it's overkill, since we tend to walk or cycle lots of places, we have the main car and we share an old knacky X-Trail with the family for things the main car can't do/don't want to do. I can't believe it has been 6 years, time really flies as you get older!
I work 13 miles away and the wife 6 miles away, it's a long walk at 4am
the quotes from 6months ago were from compare the market style insure247 , who give you a quick ability to recover old quotes and just change reg plate -
teslas are off the scale for insuring, versus bmw/vag ev's;
like LIE I'm not twisting at the moment from my ICE A4 avant

Also sounds like it’s going to cost them more per month even if charger and electric is free ? Not really a saving

Are you trying to put the fuel costs in to the new deal costs? Because I didn't specify the mileage driven, I said £40 per week spent on fuel. If you want a full maths break down, the fuel savings won't pay for the car, just most of it. The current Cashcow is an old 2.0 petrol and it spends most of its life doing very short trips, and they average 7600 miles per year, so excess mileage costs will be £416 (estimated) at hand back. The cost for the new car vs keeping the old one is ~£20 per month over the 2 years.
As a bonus they are also getting £500 off their Ohme install, which they weren't going to bother with until they found that out, so bonus, as the off-peak savings will probably pay for rest inside the first year to 18 months.
I guess he assumed 5k PA as that’s what the lease deal is (despite them doing 50% more). That excess mileage cost should be added to the monthly for full comparison. Assume no deposit too?

Yeah, I assumed that someone on a 5k per year lease would be doing there or there about s mileage wise.
That still works out at 23 mpg though which is some going for a general run about.
I'm as interested in the psychology as much as the numbers. A guy at work tells everyone "I save a fortune on fuel now I'm driving an EV". Turns out they do 4k a year and their previous car was a 1600cc Focus
