EV general discussion

@b0rn2sk8

Appears my local Octopus rates are :
8.5p 5 hours off peak
31.94p peak

Upwards trend.
That must be the fixed rate, the variable rate is usually 1-2p cheaper.

I’ve never bothered with the fix, it always comes out more expensive. The variable element mainly impacts the expensive rate which is somewhere between 50-65% of your usage for a typical user. The cheap rate doesn’t move much.

Did they drive to the charger after a long run to get there on 2%. That will have got some heat into the battery. But still impressive to max out the charger

Not really no, the power modules are in the main cabinets that distrubute power.

Only Tesla really do that split and the clue was always the fact they had 1A 1B etc. What experience have you had when DC charging EVs between Charge providers, we are really keen to hear your experience.

I think that IX3 looks great tbh.

Dunno where that was but my sister in law lives in Berlin and for some reason she's obsessed with the weather, so I can reliably report that it is currently -6 over there atm.

I quite like iX3 exterior but steering wheel is utterly horrendous. Bookmark this for when I get one in a year...

Probably between that and the EX60 for our next family car once we don't need a pram every trip and can ditch the Buzz
