EV general discussion

Why would h never to open the bonnet on these EV ‘ that never need servicing’.

Quite a few have storage "frunk" in the front... (the last time I was in an EV it was where the charging cables were stored).

Have you got one yet. Or still sat in Nissan dealers drinking tea to claim ‘EV ownership/ experience ‘

How does opening a frunk break a windscreen on a normal car anyway. The same people claiming EV are cheap to run are now saying you need a brace to open the bonnet to stop the windscreen breaking. An oil change seems less inconvenient as part of an overpriced service that having to brace the car to put your charging cables away ?

I feel sorry for you, life must be pitiful to resort to this kind of spiteful **** posting.

I have no idea.
It’s boring mate. You don’t even have a EV and you talking about what? Can’t even detect sarcasm. Most EV you just chuck them in the boot as you put your bag in etc. no need to open both most the time

It’s not spiteful. It’s observation. You replied fast enough anyway to half quote me

Someone had a frunk in a EV that you sat in and some people put cables in a frunk. Which EV? How’s that relevant to what I replied to

Hear say roff. How many times did the uber driver get his cables out

More nonsense...

Well tethered charger at home and fast charging on the road. You open that frunk for that 7kW cable as much as you top up screen wash.

On a serious note - my comment about the cable was just an illustrative example as to the "frunk" - what people do with the cables or whether they are generally used for that purpose is entirely irrelevant to the "frunk" existing and being a reason to access that area.

Well enjoy it, very comfortable ride for longs trips. Don't try and lift the bonnet unless you have the proper brace or you can smash the windscreen!

I have a feeling you can’t actually open the bonnet at all - if you look at the picture it goes all the way down to the wheel arches and there’s a separate panel on the left wing for the windscreen wash fluid to be added which was highlighted on every review I ever watched!

Have to say I can't think of many cars outside of specialised stuff like exotics which don't have a user openable bonnet - not sure I'm a fan of that though in this case there isn't really a reason to go there in 99% of cases.

This is a single motor RWD version so the front space is just other equipment - the EQC was dual motor but still didn’t have a froot, but you could open the bonnet for top-ups.

Given it’s a saloon the extra storage space would be nice, but it’s not a priority.

5 minutes on YouTube shows the bonnet is able to be opened on the Mercedes, there's just zero need to do so for an end user by the look of it, so it doesn't have a big obvious lever to do it with.

Can't see any reason why doing so would cause the windscreen to break, so no idea what that comment was referring to.

In other Mercedes news:

New AMG GT, EV, 1169bhp, fake V8 noises.

Isn’t a EV a car ? You just told us all that you need to open them to get to cables ?
