The Model Y L is now available in the US and Asia Pacific (inc. RHD e.g. Australia), the EU and UK can't be far away. It has 423 miles WLTP vs the 391 miles the longest-range 'regular' version has here.

It will be interesting how well it does here, as it is a genuine 6/7 seater and only $6k(AU) over the regular AWD long range Y.

government give subsidies for flat management companies to install chargers - council might need to restrict access if they are on some kind of parking permits
without dedicated spaces.

I'm in a similar boat. Motorway are quoting £25k for my 140i (top spec, low miles). With a max deposit of 18k, monthlies are £270 or so for a premium AWD Model Y. So if I used the BMW money too, I'd have two years of payments covered.

residuals on the Y, versus a desirable 140, still need to offset the reduced running cost

If we get panels and a battery installed at the new home, we would essentially have free motoring in the summer, and a very reduced cost in winter. So hoping that would help substantially. I cycle to work most days, but my partner can spend £200+ a month in fuel.

You are better exporting and charging over night, currently.

(other companies offer similar but this is the one I know)
Octopus charge 7p kWh for overnight electricity for your house (which includes home battery charging) if you have an EV.
Octopus pay 12p kWh for all electricity exported.

so it makes sense to export your electricity you generate and buy off peak cheap energy from the grid over night.

this could have course change in the future.

Essentially at present nearly every day electricity from 23:00 to around 05:00 is way cheaper to buy for the utility provider, so they can sell that very cheaply, as above 7pkWh or less in some cases. And they can offer a blanket SEG purchase price for every kWh you export as a majority of those hours when you are generating is when prices are higher for them to buy from commercial generators, this means you benefit to the sum of 5ppkWh less losses incurred in the DC/AC in both directions.

All of this could change if they ever manage to unlink electricity pricing from gas/high cost generation, as then what you might find is prices vary more on SEG.

Didn't realise that it was out in RHD markets.

There was a rumor that they were adding V2L on them as well, but was that only in some markets?
 
Finally got the Ioniq 6!


And they’ve been very generous and prepped the car with sandpaper for me :cool:

Hologram city...... I always tell then just to leave it alone and let my Detailer prep the car.
They just run a compound buff all over the car which ends up looking fine in the showroom but like that in direct sunlight.
 
would have been fuming so sad :( wouldnt trust dealer to wash my car (BMW) I tend to skip it unless im desperate or pay for valet have great guy around my way used him for ages.
