Also with the SIM connection, you are relying that the service in your area is acceptable.

I am using, and would recommend the hypervolt home 3 pro. This has both wifi and ethernet access, and the app is pretty decent. Also has octopus integration.

Agreed, despite mine having these WiFi issues. The Smart Home Charge techie is coming today to fit the replacement WiFi module, although I could have easily done it myself. I can hopefully show how it is constantly dropping offline.
Fingers crossed it resolves this or it is plan B, which I will will do myself.

In what way is the A6 Etron "low rent" the quality and drive i've found to be really good. Range is good even on 21s charge rate is very good from the 5 minutes I used an Ionity charger on the way back from Cardiff and the boot is plenty big enough to fit an ikea pax wardrobe and other bits in with the seats down. Rear space is very good for passengers and there is plenty of leg and foot space. All the systems works well, sound system is great, the pano roof is the best I've had in any car i've had.

I agree they have depreciated fast, but then all electric cars do and it meant I paid a really decent price for mine, and the support from Audi on used cars made it a much better buy than the i4 or others.

Overthinking it.

A local electrician is more likely to do a bespoke install for you. Octopus is very fixed in terms of their installation methods. The latter works fine for 90% of people.

As much as octopus can talk to the Tesla, I’d still get a charger that can talk to a range of suppliers because the charger is likely to outlast your ownership of the Tesla and you might swap to another supplier that can’t talk to the Tesla.

Hypervolt is well supported across various suppliers smart tariffs. Zappi is also.

Worth noting Hypervolt still appears to have some issues with IOG if directly integrated, whereby they often seem unable to charge at full speed when controlled by Octopus - becoming more of a problem now Octopus have introduced the 6hr cap
 
If you just want to get a charger installed, what's the best option? Seen you can enquire through the chargers own website, you can call local companies, via energy companies etc etc

there is a lot of speculation around this and no one had actually confirmed if it’s actually a problem.

If you ask for an amount of energy that can be fulfilled in 3 hours charging fast or 6 hours charging slower, it makes no difference.

No ones actually confirmed what happens if you ask for the full 42kwh and what happens under the cap.

The charge cap isn’t fully implemented yet, I’ve not had it applied to me for example.

Sorry just go sit in an i5 and you can't even compare interior quality.

I'm not talking about charge rate, range, space, etc. it just feels like the interior is from a car the segment below that's all. The fact you've compared it to the i4 makes the point better than I could, really.

I did, I tried just about everything in the sector before I bought the A6, I liked the i4 and i5, but as a package the A6 was better. The interior I find to be really good, quality on my Launch Edition is great as are the systems. Its not the same as the i5 but then each brand has their own identity.

I put the i4 in as a comparison to the used support from the manufacture not as a comparison of the car itself?

I was just interested in what gave you the view that it was a bit crap and low rent, having lived with the A6 and considered both the i4 and i5, it was quite a broad statement. I guess I consider the whole car and not just the interior so there are swings and roundabouts for both.

I asked the company who I've been emailing, asking about if another company installed a charger while I wait for panels and battery, this was their reply:

It would wholly depend on how they wired it. I would suggest they come out of the meter box in a small external distribution board to feed the charger. This way we can ensure that the wiring is close by to the mains and it can easily be 'split' from the house battery system. Alternatively, if they did it another way we could utilise a monitoring device to ensure the house batteries won't discharge into the car but this would be at a cost of £200.

Audi have cut costs too far basically. They are not bad cars but their pricing is premium and IMO is not justified. You mentioned getting a great deal, which is probably fair as a way for Audi to compete but on RRP I don't think they are in line with the BMW/Merc equivalents.

For the A6, apart from 800V why would you not get an ID7? For the Q6, who is picking one over the iX3?

I don't believe they have traditionally changed wheelbases - so can make an intelligent guess that rear passenger space will remain
for better or worse.
putting in a longer wheel base (to detriment of handling) seems a good solution on one-off estates id7/007 to allow rear seats to be further
back is a compromise I like - the seat down full capacity must-have will remain.
there had also been some web comments that a c series estate was off the menu.

I must be on a different page around sizing. The i5 is 5060, the A6 Etron Avant is 4928 and the a4 avant is 4762, which makes the i5/a6 closer in size than the a6/a4?
